  1. We are leaving out tomorrow night from Kentucky and will get there late Friday evening. We will be fishing both Toledo Bend and a couple of times at Sam Rayburn all next week. I have been so excited for this opportunity of a lifetime for me. I just want to say "Thanks" to all of you that responded to my questions. I look forward to spending 8 days at Holly Park Marina and fishing these two lakes that I have only read about in magazines. Wish me luck and if you have any last minute tips for this Kentucky boy, he sure would like to hear them !
  2. Is this by Holly Park Marina?
  3. Thank you! Its hard to find information on any other sites without being harassed or belittled on Facebook

  6. Lake Vesuvious does have big bass but it will be the only fish you catch that day. Two years ago, my fishing buddy and I went to Vesuvious maybe 14-15 times. Only two fish were caught but they both were 5+. Grayson has also produced some 5+ the last few years but just like you said, you will catch 10 dinks to every 1-2 # fish. I mostly fish at Yatesville in Louisa. Although they are also full of dinks, the odds of catching a keeper bass is higher in my mind. We have caught more 2-3 pound fish from Yatesville and it also can yield a 5+ bass. The only problem with Yatesville is high fishing pressure. This pic is one of two 5 # that he caught at Vesuvious out of many days of fishing there
  7. Im in the Northeast part of the state (Ashland). We have a few smaller lakes in our area that we call home. The most popular would be Yatesville and Grayson. Two smaller lakes would be Greenbo and Carter Caves (Smokey Valley).
  8. We will be staying at the Holly Park Marina. My buddy also mentioned trailering to Blue Lake Launch a few times if the lake levels will allow it
  9. Thats discouraging! I am really hoping for a shallower bite. Im not the best fisherman when it comes to deeper water. I do love fishing timber though and there seems to be plenty of it..........lol
  10. In less than two weeks, my buddy and I will be headed to Toledo Bend from Kentucky. This will be a trip of a lifetime for me. I see that the water levels seem to be coming up nicely. My Question? At the current water levels, is it high enough to reach the buckbrush that I keep hearing about? From everything that I have read, thats my style of fishing.......lol
  11. Thank you fellas! From what I have read, this should be pre-spawn/spawn. Am I correct in saying this?
  12. This Kentucky boy gets to come fish Toledo Bend for the first time and I cant wait! My "bass boat" buddy comes every year and invited me to join him this year on the 1st week of March. We will be staying at Holly Park Marina. If you dont mind me asking, what kind of conditions should I prepare for? (fishing and typical weather)
  13. Always catch and release but I hope to wear a few of them down for you!!!!!! lol
  14. BobbyG, I will be down there the week before you (March29-April 1st). We stay at the Dale Hollow State Resort Park. The places that you pin pointed on your map is one of our favorite spots . This will be our 4th trip down there at this time of year. We fish long grassy flats in 20 ft of water with swimbaits and crankbaits and have success. (We hired a guide the first trip that gave us a few pointers....lol) Good Luck to you and your dad
  15. Thanks KevO !!! We will be fishing the Kentucky side of the lake.
