  1. Pan fish! For bass, I am strictly catch and release. But I love frying up some bluegill, pumpkinseed, crappie and perch!
  2. Gonna throw some trebles on it and fish it?
  3. Tried it for 5 minutes, not happening. Ever.
  4. That kangaroo is lucky that it wasn't my dog it had in the head lock. I'm like an overprotective parent with my dog.
  5. LiveTarget baits are quality for sure. Haven't used one that I didn't like. The baitball color scheme may be a little gimmicky, but the quality of the LiveTarget lures is certainly good, and worth the price tag IMO. I'm lucky enough that my local F&S always has LiveTargets on sale.
  6. This off-season will be a lot different than in the past. Usually during the off-season, I organize, purchase, clean and stare at my fishing equipment. But this February, I am taking a 5 day fishing trip to Mexico to fish Lake Baccarac! Putting the boat up this year was a lot easier than in the past, only because I have this bass fishing trip to look forward to in early February!
  7. So not cool. This right here is one of the few things stopping me from seriously considering moving somewhere more southern. I have a deathly fear of spiders, no matter how big or small, and whether or not they bite makes no difference to me.
  8. The EXACT image that popped into my head when I read it LOL
  9. Top waters and plastics for sure.
  10. Even though the deal was just about done, it fell through so I did not get the Colorado. But I had my heart set on a new truck, and I found an even better deal for a 2017 Nissan Frontier SV 4X4, which is OFFICIALLY mine now. Initial impression is LOVE.

  12. Just pulled the trigger on a new 2016 Chevy Colorado. I currently drive (and love!) a 2014 Dodge Dart for every day commuting, and a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 for boat-hauling purposes. With the truck having some problems recently forcing me to shut my fishing season down early, I decided to treat myself to an early Christmas present. I'll be trading the Dart in and picking up my new Colorado on Monday! I have had my eye on these trucks for a while. Don't have a need for a full-size truck, and this will take care of all my truck needs. It will look pretty, haul my boat and drive through snow. Enough for me! So are there any other Chevy Colorado owners out there?
  13. Since I was 3 or 4, so well over 20 years.
  14. I focus specifically on bass, but that yields me plenty of bycatches including pike, pickerel and crappie. I fish only with artificial, and I never fish fast. If i'm drifting a bank, I may stop at a specific target for several minutes before continuing my drift. I will also motor back to start the drift over again if I had success or feel like there should be fish. On very rare occasions, like once a year I will anchor at a spot and fish for carp with bait. The carp seem to spook if I fish for bass while waiting for the carp. So I usually just hang out and wait. This is something I should do more, fighting a brute carp is a blast.
  15. People literally think there is something wrong with me when they see all my fishing gear. The funny thing is, I have never shown someone ALL my fishing gear because its never all in one place. I keep some at the camp, some on the boat or in the truck, but the vast majority is stored in a dedicated fishing closet. My reel addiction (pun intended) is just that, reels. I am so addicted to baitcasting reels. I love buying them, using them, looking at them, feeling them. I have a list 20 reels long that I plan on buying. I really have to control myself, because with the price of reels that I'm drawn to, it could and would get out of hand, QUICK. I'm addicted, I'll admit it. But hey, its a whole lot healthier and arguably cheaper than a drug or alcohol addiction right?
  16. About a dozen times, for both business and pleasure.

  18. I am definitely a bass fisherman first and foremost. I do sometimes fish for bluegill, crappie and perch when I am going to have a fish fry, and I also fish small streams and creeks for trout in the mountains on occasion. I also catch a ton of pike and pickerel while bass fishing, and if they're of decent size I enjoy catching them as well.
  19. Guides have information that will help you long after the trip is over. Ask as many questions as you can. If it is a decent guide, they should be happy to answer your questions. I've only fished with a bass guide once, but have fished with several trout and salmon guides. All of them were very knowledgeable and happy to share that knowledge.
