  1. This year so far: Early spring: lipless crankbaits pre-spawn: wacky rigged senkos, Texas rigged craws and creatures. Spawn: wacky rigged senkos and topwater post spawn: topwater current/recently: topwater, Ned rig and wacky rigged senkos. Now that summer is in full swing, I'll be tossing Texas-rigged 7-10" Culprit ribbon tail worms a lot.
  2. I don't think live bait is cheating, but I much prefer the challenge of catching bass on artificial baits. I haven't used live bait in years, except when pan-fish fishing. Live bait almost always out fishes artificials.
  3. Monofilament: Berkley Trilene XL or Big Game Fluorocarbon: Yo-Zuri fluoro leader material Braid: Power Pro
  4. I was hoping to see KD go to the Eastern Conference, just to balance the power a little bit and make a serious threat to the Cavs in the east. A team like Boston, who just signed Al Horford, could have been a powerhouse with Durant.
  5. Spinning Reels: Pflueger Casting reels: Pflueger, Lew's & Abu Rods: Fenwick & St. Croix
  6. Durant signed a 2 year/$54.3 million deal with the Warriors. Hard to believe that a 73-9 team just added the best individual scorer in the game. Should be interesting. What do you think?
  7. What I don't understand is, the problems with Rio such as water-pollution, crime/violence and more recently the Zika Virus are very well documented and not a new issue. Brazil is a developing country, most of which still lives in 3rd-world conditions. The problems were here before the OC decided on Rio de Janeiro, and they will be here long after the Olympics are over. And sure, the Brazilian government promised to get Rio straight before the games, but if that was an option, wouldn't it have already been done, regardless of whether or not the Olympics are happening there? What is the Brazilian government supposed to say? Of course they're going to say they will clean up the city. They don't want to miss out on all the revenue the games will generate, regardless of if they are able to get the city cleaned up in time. But to answer your question, would I go? I guess that all depends on my situation, were I an invited athlete. If my sport was one that had a top-level league in the US, such as basketball or golf, I probably wouldn't make the trip, as the biggest honor in those sports don't come from the Olympic stage (IMO). But if I were a swimmer, gymnast or something like that, I would probably make the trip due to the fact that the highest possible achievement in those sports come by way of the Olympic gold. It would also come down to finances. If skipping the Olympics meant missing out on possible endorsements or sponsorship deals, that would affect my decision as an athlete to participate. But again, only if that were the best option for these opportunities in the sport I was participating in. What is shocking to me is that ANY NBA players are participating. Between the ridiculous NBA salaries, endorsement deals and the fact that an NBA title means a hell of a lot more than an Olympic gold for basketball, I can't believe that any of these guys are making the trip to Rio.
  8. I use 1/0 EWG light-wire hooks for rigging baits weedless (Texas-style) when drop-shot fishing. I use the light-wire hooks because I fish drop-shots on a medium-light rod.

If you're wary about the hook, something like this might be a good idea.
  10. This. I couldn't imagine leaving my gear out over night. I bring all my stuff inside after every trip, and it gets stored in my fishing walk-in closet. Yeah it sucks having to carry through the house several times a week, but I have far too much invested in my gear to not take care of it. And when stored right, monofilament will last a long time. I have a few spools of Big Game that have been stored in this closet for several years, and I'm still using the line this year. Hasn't degraded a bit.
  11. I get all my tungsten from Siebert Outdoors. They have every size you could need, and I have been using them for 3-4 years and have not had one cut my line.
  12. My weightless senko dedicated setup is a 7' M-F spinning outfit.
  13. The pro max isn't a bad reel for the money, and they can be found cheaper online. Fenwick makes a few different models of rods that are $90 or less.
  14. Big YCB order. -Senkos -Hula Grubs -Fat Ikas -Lizards
  15. I use 20lb braid with a 17-25 lb fluoro leader.
  16. Tried it out yesterday morning and that thing is sweet! You really can't go wrong with anything made by Pflueger I guess.
  17. New addition to the roster. Pflueger Supreme XT. I love Pflueger spinning reels so I'm seeing how I like their casting reels. As soon as I get a rod to pair her with, she'll be inserted into the starting lineup.
  18. When I throw a shakey head, it's usually with a Roboworm.
  19. I'm thinking you are right. By the images on google it appears to be.
  20. Yeah the bottom one is not a golden, but it does look similar with the red gill plate, red belly and red fins. But now I think its a Colorado River cutthroat. To me they look like different subspecies. The top fish's spots are larger and denser, and the red on the gill plate isn't as intense. But color can vary from fish to fish obviously. Hybrids are always a possibility as well. I am definitely curious now. Colorado River cutthroat:
  21. Top looks like a cutthroat, bottom maybe a golden? Tough to tell, but definitely either cutthroat or golden, or one of each. Nice fish! Edit* I see you said cutthroat in your post, are you asking which subspecies of cutthroat?
  22. I switched to 25lb Yo-Zuri fluorocarbon leader material, and break offs became a thing of the past.
  23. That was absolutely incredible.
