  1. I hope so... They now know.
  2. Thanks for the post!! Now I finally know what I am missing... I did not get one, and I have the rooster tail issue BAD! I wish Hummingbird would have given us all one. It's no wonder it is not mentioned in the instructions, 50% of us never received that part. I am trying my best to mod their mount with black tape. I also wish the Lund dealer would have correct that during the install, and informed me that they picked me out a bad box, with a critical missing part. I bet they knew about this issue too. I am calling them in the AM to insure they dont do this to their other customers. I think it goes near where your transducer meets the mount, so it wont scoup water up and throw it into the back of your boat, like mine does. Update: I just wrote hummingbird, requesting my missing part, and linking to this thread. What I would really like to know is who decided that only 50% of their 798's get the anti-rooster tail part, and why was that ok? My stance is: When you spend over a grand on a unit, the plastic part that keeps you, and the inside of your boat dry, should have been included. Now it's back on me to get the missing part, that some others got for free. Needless to say how that makes me feel. That means I received bad SD card advice when contacting them directly, and my unit was missing a part that caused my friends to ask, why does your new boat shoot water in the back? A question that I had no good answer for, until now. Thanks again for the info, and picture posted. I now hold the answer!
  3. Good to hear!
  4. Wow... Sound like allot of fun!
  5. One day the The Hunchback of Notre Dame decides to go on a vacation, but he needs a replacement worker to ring the bell while he is away. So he posts the position with anybody who wants the job, must apply in person. The only man who shows up is a man with no arms... The Hunchback says 'far be it from me to discriminant against the handicapped, but you have to pull on this rope, to ring the bell'. The man replies, It's no problem, I'll just use my face... The Hunchback says 'What ???' The man said, 'Sure, It doesn't hurt me, watch... and proceeds to bang his face into the bell. RINGGGGGGG The Hunchback says, 'That's good enough for me, you got the job...' The Hunchback only gets a few steps away from the bottom of the tower when the poor man slipped, and fell to his death, landing on the sidewalk below. SPLAT!! A crowd gathered, and the police were there, and asked, 'does anybody know his name?' The Hunchback replied, 'No, but his face rings a bell'
  6. I am in this club too... Now that my tacke box is getting close to being maxed out, all of my cash will soon be pointing at rods and reels. (Big money) Now spending 8 to 25 bucks on baits, will seem like small potatos. I want more Lews baitcasters, and Dobins rods. (3 or 4 of them) $$$ I actually have considered a second part time job, to help pay for my habbit.
  7. +1... Fing mounting job DelcoSol
  8. Thanks... Did Jeff have a off-road buggy? I know this thing could pull a fishing shelter out on the ice.
  9. Indeed... As kinds we are known for having no fear of death, and not considering the possibilites if things go wrong. Glad we both gave that habbit up!

  24. Dumb things that you have done on the ice... When I was a boy growing up in Traverse City Michigan, me and the neighbor kid would go out on East bay, chop us off a good size iceberg to float on, using the heels of out boots. We would then get 2 long sticks, and run back on forth on the teetering iceberg, stabbing our sticks into the water to steer. Not smart.... I would steel one pair of my 3 sisters plastic winter boots, because they had the sharpest/hardest heels to chop ice with. The extra height of the boots also kept the water out, when the edge of the iceberg would go under. The boots were water tight and went up to my knees. We would give a good shove with our sticks, and run for the other side. One day while walking out on the ice near the edge, to start working on the 'raft of the day', he fell through the ice and came back underneath where i could see him. I quickly jumped on my belly, stuck my arm through the hole he made in the ice, grabbed him by the jacket, and pulled him back over to the hole, and back out onto the ice. He was shaken up pretty bad, and we ran back to his house before he froze up. We were in 5th grade, and never told our moms. That was the last day of our Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn floating iceberg adventures.
