Best Worm For Shaker Head?

Featured Replies

What do u guys like to use?

PowerTeam Lures 5" & 7" Finicky tickler, 5" Sick Stick, 3.5" Craw D'Oeuvre to name a few...

PTL plastics are neutrally buouyant and float, so jig heads with any stand up or rotational elements to them really accentuate the natural movement of their plastics.  Drop me a line if you think you might want to try some.

I like a Big Bite squirrel tail, 4" trick worm, or the 4" magnum finesse worm.

Zoom finesse worm and Trick Worm. The Chompers shaky worm is good as well.

I just bought some Z-man straight worms, I know their difficult to rig on most shaky heads jigs but will float like no other. I'll let you know how well they work.

Trick and Finesse worms.  I use Roboworms sometimes too, but they are gone sometimes before a fish even gets to them!

I've caught most off a zoom trick worn

Zoom Trick Worm or Finesse Worm depending on whether I want to larger profile or not.

Hands down missile baits fuse 4.4. Just has a very unique action that others do not. I also like the havoc bottom hopper. The plastic seems to be a little softer to me.

PTL...FTW. By fwr the best shaky head plastics out there. They were pretty  much designed for that purpose.

If I were to grab a few Zoom Trick Worms to try out, any hot color recommendations?

Can't go wrong with junebug, and  the green pumpkins/watermelons with or without your choice of metal flake. Also don't ever fish a bubble gum one subsurface over grass, that dosen't work at all.

plain black trick worm works anywhere in the country

GYCB Kut Tail is the only worm.

However, my new "secret weapon" is the MegaStrike MegaTube Craw on a ShakE2 Pro Series

I had never seen these beforehttp://missilebaits.com/index.php/baits/fuse-4-4.html I plan on ordering some of these and trying them on a shakey head, they look like they would have good action.I just have to figure where i can fit them in on my soft plastic rotation.

You will love those!  The only reason I didn't suggest the fuse craw was because he asked what worm. I use those on a shaky head or a pegged bullet weight while fishing willow trees on one of my favorite lakes.  They come thru laydowns religiously!

John designed a thinner profile bait to punch grass mats or heavy cover like Florida waters has.

Hag's Tornado....stands straight up and has a lot of wiggle action. I like the 5" in watermelon red ( of course).

Check out the reviews on TW.

straight Tail Robo Worms. In two main colors. If there is perch in the lake, use Prizm Perch. Iv caught a load of fish of that color. I buy 10 packs at a time. Another great color is Warmouth. OMG I have not used either color yet and came home empty handed YET. lol

I'll x2 the kut tails and roboworm. Both staples in my arsenal.

Another idea is to use torn/repaired baits. I keep a bag of baits that I repaired with mend it and use those after they soak in some megastrike or similar scent.

Charlie's worms, high floating, black, junebug, watermelon red, green pumpkin. Stike king super finesse (and they are a royal pain to get on) super strong, really stretchy. Robo worms finesse. Havoc bottom hoppers. Just to name a few.

I like the Zoom truck worm,Netbait finesse worm,Netbait C-Mac,Robo Worms,

I'm with the power team guys. I love the 5 inch finicky tickler in June bug. This is the by far the best shakey head worm I have ever used.

Netbait Finesse or T-Mac worms work fine for me. I usually opt for a craw/creature over a worm though...
