  1. I certainly don't mean obsolete as in people aren't going to use them because they certainly will I have two cores and plan on keeping them in use for years to come however if I was in the market for a new reel and was going to be dropping $300+ the metanium is a legit contender. All I'm saying is I would want something new and modern with all the bells and whistles. I had the chance to cast the metanium in my backyard with snow and ice still on the ground LOL and the SVS is something incredible. Just keep that in mind.
  2. Braid coming through the guides is the best sound EVER!
  3. I mostly just tie direct but alot of the megabass knuckles I use have snaps on them already.
  4. D&M makes the FINEST vibrating jig on the market hands down! Plus the owners Dale&Mark are really great people who are honest and fair. I had a small issue with the band around the skirt and he sent me two replacements plus a few nice swim baits these guys are AWESOME!
  5. Got my metanium in the mail the other day from TW .... I wish everything wasn't froze over
  6. Yes this is true however for those considering buying the core I would wait for those to go on discount which should be soon because there phasing the cores here pretty soon. I just couldn't justify the $300+ price tag for a reel that will be obsolete in another year but to each there own. Just my 2 cents
  7. I just got my metanium XG from TW 2 days ago paired it up with a GLX and couldn't be happier! It's basically a core on steroids and IMO it palms better than the 100MG7 I have. I have pretty big hands though.
  8. I would save up $75 bucks and get the Megabass Orrochi.
  9. I am a diehard Shimano fan and recently bought my first daiwa about 2 months ago which is the Tatula and I must say it's very smooth on the retrieve almost like "air" smooth it's insane. I also have the chronarch ci4+ and I have the Tatula paired on my iRod air which is my frog/flippin/buzzbait setup and I use my chronarch ci4+ for square bills/medium divers. Let me first say that both of these reels are amazing but for the kind of technique you are looking to use the reel for I would easily say Tatula for sure!
  10. I have tried them all and keep going back to either Sunline SX1 for more "finesse" tactics or Sunline FX2 for the "heavier" approach mostly froggin and flipping. I think this is hands down the best braid on the market it's super round, supple, and to me most importantly it HOLDS it's color I cannot stand having my reel, rods, and hands all green after fishing for 1 hour. I tried Suffix 832 one time and will never do that again that stuff bleeds green like no other line I have ever fished I stripped it all off on my boat that day with my hands trashed full of green dye. If you have the funds to do it the right way buy Sunline FX2 or SX1 if you don't then just get Power Pro.
