Having A Hard Time Getting Bites.
Went out for an hour, tossed some worms around, didn't see a fish.... until 10 minutes before I had to leave (stupid work). Sure enough they are going nuts right now and I can't go get em!

I would agree too in most cases. Not last week though. Wasn't a fish to be seen.

How Insignificant Do You Feel?
I love this stuff. I watch documentaries on space science all the time. Accurate scale models of the solar system will freak most people out as well.

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
There is no telling, I can't get a good sight on it I just know I've spotted the most beds tight against all types of cover 2-3ft deep and I just keep casting away in it. They aren't no dinks. have to be 5+ lb fish staying mostly in the same spots. If I go back tomorrow they will probably still be there.

Yikes! I can't even imagine having that many people trying to be on my junk. I would think a camera boat / helicopter would be bad enough. Let alone all that.

Curiosity Question

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
Are they females? Always thought they were males. Usually I can get the smaller ones in beds to bite. These big ones I keep finding are ramming it a couple times and then leaving. They have to be more seasoned and they know my tricks already lol.

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
Good catches, about the same sizes I've been catching recently. I keep finding pigs but they wont bite at all. I've been finding them all day by dropping worms or spinner baits on their heads. I'm guessing their males gaurding spawning sites. Thats has to be why they keep ramming my baits but not biting. They are real tight to cover too. I have to drop the baits right against the reeds to get a reaction from them.

Yeah, I spent about 5 hours fishing again today. Talked to quiet a few boaters and they had nothing too. One guy got a 4lber using a mino spinner bait. Nice to see some one atleast catch something today. Fish were there and even pretty active. Crapie were feeding on stuff coming out of the weeds (looked like freshwater shrimp) and I swear some monster bass Ate 1 or two of them crapie. Never seen hits that big on the water... Thought pelicans were diving in!

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
I use to live right by lake Bryan. This guy I use to know worked there fished quiet often. Said he caught good size fish 8lb range before. I always wanted to go fish there but never took the time to figure out how. It is literally right next to downtown disney. I would imagine bv water sports would let you take a cano out and fish in it. I can't imagine the lake not having any good fish in it with all the tourists being on it. It is a watersports jetski type lake so.... might want to ask when its least busy too if you don't want wake. 25$ per hour (sucks I know) cano rentals. I wouldn't pay for a ponton at their price though. Has to be a good lake though, why else would there be a fishing guide on it?? Might be worth a look into. http://www.bvwatersports.com/#!boatrentals/c1yws

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
The lake by the Ivanhoe exit is Lake Ivanhoe, that lake is one of my favorites to fish at from shore it is aerated and stocked. You can walk around the whole thing basically. Lake Underhill which is on the east side of orlando under the east west express way south of the executive airport. Personal best in both lakes is around 5lbs but I have a feeling there are 8lbs+ in both. Ivanhoe Lake Underhill The pond I was fishing at was right infront of arnold palmer hospital. Its called lake beauty park. I don't know why they call it a lake but its stocked and aerated as well.

Having A Hard Time Getting Bites.
No doubt. Finally landed a job that will allow me to be a little more stable paycheck to paycheck. Im going to start picking up canos, refurbishing them, and reselling them for a little extra $$$ so I can afford a nice boat and upgrade my tackle selection. Also started really analyzing what might be going on with my mistake fishing week. Keep hearing this over and over... shallow shallow shallow, spawning season, heavy heavy cover..... realised most places I fish don't really have "cover".... just structure. Went to my favorite location and tossed into the only cover there. Sure enough nailed a 3-4lb fish. Will have to explore new locations with better cover and just keep at it. These fish aren't roaming into my canals. I'll try this new spot tomorrow with a ton of cover and see how it goes! Nice piggy by the way.

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
I went before and out after an interview today, Sure enough. Nothing, Tried the same thing with the spinner. I did get a bite but nothing hard and no set (probably a bluegill messing with it). So not working out yet. Whenever this funk ends ill be glad it does. I must go off to my favorite spot now and fish it until my girlfriend yells at me. Then fish some more!

Thanks for sharing that SirSnookalot. I always thought Cudas were horrible to eat because of that. Is this is the same way worms get into groupers?

Does Line Color Really Matter?
I don't know, I've tried Big Game Trilene (mono), Vicious flourocarbon, Spiderwire (braided) green, havent noticed much in the ways of the bite. I noticed 8lbtest trilene sucks, 10lb is decent, and 14lb is better.... Why? I have no idea. I guess the thicker it gets the less likely it is to have memory issues? I don't know. I do want to try Cajun 12lb (red) line but everytime I look for it its always sold out. I guess the red is really popular. I don't think fish care about the light spectrum of line.....I'll still try it anyways.

When Did You Start?
My parents recorded video the first time. I think I was 4, and like most everyone else catching the bluegils. I've fished since then but it was an off and on thing. Usually to kill time in the summer as a kid or using bait bottom fishing (I love catfish) Only recently started trying to get good at bass fishing. I learned along the way (how to use worms, crankbaits, basic knots, etc...) but only recently started wanting to get better at it. I would say since around september I started building my tackle collection one paycheck at a time. I would consider that being when I started. 6 Months and I already surpassed my personal best. It was around 4lbs and now it was somewhere in the 8lb neighbor hood. Sometimes I sound like I have a bunch of big fish stories. Like missing an estimated 12lb monster or acouple 10lb fish.... but truth is I hook into a lot of monsters but for the life of me I just can't get them in. Then again, my uncle didn't believe a 35-40lb carp was in the pond out back. Sometimes big fish stories are true.
