I have 2 6'6" Abu Garcia Black Max Combo's Instead of having two of the same exact set-ups is it possible to buy a rod for one of the Black Max Reels so I can throw lighter lures with a baitcaster? The Rod Combo is rated for 1/4"-1". I was wondering if I could just buy a rod rated for something like 1/8oz, 3/16oz type of lures? I know that rods have a suggested lure rate on them I just didn't know if Reels do to? If so what rod would you suggest? I am looking at the BassPro Micro Lite and wondering if it would work? or the Med Light BassPro Tourney Special? Thanks

I was at the boat slips very few boats were there. I am trying to learn to skip under the docks. I was also cast down and reeling in by the dock

Hope to get back this weekend. Yeah I walked to the bank and played around there to. The Mgr of the Campground said people had been pulling small and large mouth out from under docks. It was a bad time of day was about 2pm. Tried various plastics Carolina Rigged, tried a few crankbaits, spinners, and jigs. Oh well all I can do is keep casting. I did catch a dock and a leaffish, lol! Either way it was great just to be out and have a line in the water

Finally got to Smith Mountain Lake today mainly to do some work on and around camper. Spent about an hour on the docs fishing, trying out ne Abu Garcia Black Max and Plfueger Trion. Nothing not even a bite, tried about everything i own. Must be doing a lot wrong!! Any advice?

Another thought is to throw a heavier line like 15lb test and use for Buzzbaits, Frogs, Spinners, etc...

Might just retire the Kunan and Diawa and slip it in there and use for spinnerbaits, topwater etc...

I placed an order last week for a Abu Garcia Black Max combo, a Pflueger Trion 35 which also came with a 7ft Berkley AMP MH Fast action Spinning rod for $1. Tracking showed that UPS had damaged the Rods and they would be returned to the store. Yesterday I got the Abu Garcia Black Max Combo and today I got the Plfueger Berkley Combo and a Abu Garcia Combo!!!! Yep you guessed it they sent me an extra Combo!!! I called and they said keep it. Now below is my setups I have! How would you set up the extra combo? Kunan Competitor 6'6" MH & Diawa PS2-SB Baitcaster - Spinnerbait/top water/swim jigs No line yet.......prob gonna do 12lb Abu Garcia Thunder Stick 5'6" Medium light action & Shimano Bantam Crestfire CR100 - Dropshot rod/split shot....haven't decided yet Abu Garcia Black Max Combo 6'6" MH Rod & Reel Baitcaster - Your main jig rod and texas rigs (plasticss)....... 12lb Pflueger Trion 35 Reel and a 7' Pflueger Rod Combo Spinning - (Senkos, weightless plastics, shakey head, small jigs and cranks)..... 6lb Extra Abu Garcia Black Max Combo....???? I agree 100%. I called Dicks Sporting Goods this morning, they pulled up the account and tracking number. Said no problem, I will take care of this and you will have a new order number within the next few minutes. We will resend you the package today. By the time I got back to my desk at work I had the email. That is CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! They haven't even gotten the original package from UPS yet!!!
