  1. Lures with KVD on them work perfectly. Darn bass will never learn. Lol New, the Howler works numbers. Just look at last years Classic. Fish can't read. It won't matter.
  2. More importantly, what is the price of living there? I'm making 10 an hour, will be paid the same with more reliable hours if I chose to make the move. I can't afford things here. Lookin at 1000 a month for an apartment, and it only goes up from there.
  3. Thanks all. Life's a risk anyway, right? What would and should I be prepared for with the people? I am white and Hispanic, and I'm not from the south. This is enough to be labeled a "northerner" regardless of the fact that WA wasn't a state durring the civil war. Whats the whether like there? Rain snow? Major disasters to worry about? Lol
  4. Take your spool out and let it set in warm water for five to 10 minutes. This helps the line remember your spool instead of the spool it came on. I do it every time, and it does numbers for me. In find I'm not birdnesting near as much, although bit still can happen. Flouro is just stiffer than mono, so its part of the beast.
  5. Probably Mount Hood, which is 15 to 20 minutes from Charolette.
  6. For the pocket book, that's a no. Especialy fishing lakes your direction... Deep there is like less than 10 feet. Lol. Deep here is 20. Would not recommend it for a second. And deffinatly not a 10XD... I learned that fast.
  7. Beautiful fish. I caught my pb rainbow a couple years back. 9 plds 3 oz on a kastmaster spoon. Even was put in Washington Oregon Game and Fish magazine for it. But she was ugly and a hatchery fish in a lake. Tasted like mud, what a shame. Not to brag or anything. Lol
  8. I am a western Washington native, moved to Oregon, got married, that didn't work, now I'm back in WA and am facing a life altering decision. Should I move to North Carolina. My old man just moved there, and is offering me a place to stay and a job transfer. Family in WA is a mess, my support me, and the bassin' in nc is supposed to be better than Western WA by a mile. Would you do it if you were in the position I am?
  9. My price range for any of the rods would be pretty wide, in the 80 to 150 dollar range. I do not like or want micro guides, as I've heard the eyes break too easy. One piece is a must, personal pref. I also prefer cork handles to foam, but this isn't necessary, as that hard to find in bass rods. lol. I realize Ill have to buy multiple rods for the same lure, just different weights, depths, etc. I just want to know, without really mentioning manufactures on my part, what you guys like. I know its a tall order, but if you guys could get your arsenal with some of the above parameters as a guide, what would you do? Open to all suggestions. Today, there is no such thing as a stupid comment. Christmas is coming up!
  10. I have to be honest. These rods have negative reviews on ***.com and when I've seen them they look flimsy and poorly assembled. Sorry KVD, I like you, but your rods and reels need work!
  11. I am looking into getting more bass rods. I currently have 2 spinning rods, one for drop shots, and one for Texas rigging. I also have 2 casting rods, one for flipping and pitching, and one for shallow diving crankbaits. I love power fishing, and I love plastics. I want a rod for spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and a deep diving crankbaits and medium diving crankbaits, along with a rod for dragging jigs. What should I be looking into? I want to be set up for or any and all circumstances on the water, and now that my life permits buying what I want with no one, telling me no, it's the perfect time. Thoughts? I want brand names, actions, lengths. Get technical.
  12. I just moved back to Everett from Oregon. I looked at the bass clubs on assessors and couldn't seem to find any. I'm looking into getting into a club in the Everett area. Tournaments are fun. Help?
  13. For me, there is no one size fits all worm. I do keep a ton of black Yamamoto senkos and watermelon red flake yum dingers. I also like keeping ex money zman stickbaits for shakeyhead applications. Ultimately, it depends on what mood the bass are in.
  14. I'm just like you. I carry a large tactical backpack when I go fishing. I have two Plano double sided 3700 series boxes, one loaded with crainkbaits, the other loaded with rip baits. I have 5 3600 series boxes, one loaded with terminal tackle, one with 10XD's, one with spinnerbaits, and two that are empty, begging to be filled. I carry my soft plastics in a separate bag. Its the B.A.S.S. Bag that they send you when u have a membership. I wish I could show you pictures. I don't know how to upload pics from my phone.
  15. What is Academy? I have never heard of it living here on the west coast. Do they have an online store?
  16. Train of thought came from realizing most Americans are right handed. This is what brought on the curiosity.
  17. So I grew up fishing salmon and steelhead in Western WA. My Dad taught me that you want your dominant hand on the rod and your off hand on the reel. Needless to say, this has transitioned over to bass fishing, ESPECIALLY when it comes to flipping and pitching, making long casts, etc. I'm just wondering as I've noticed among bass fishermen it doesn't seem to matter as much. Why do most of us fish "backwards?"
  18. How do I talk to Mike and who is he? I order things all the time online from my phone. Tackle Warehouse works no problem, but Bass Pro Shops and Siebert outdoors seem not to like smart phones.
  19. I fish with zman products, and yes, they do melt in heat or when put with other plastics. They also dont take dies- JJs magic devours them. I tend to keep them in the bottom of the box of plastics to avoid melting. Great baits, they are durable, but like everything they have their pros and cons.
  20. I checked out Seibert outdoors. When I went to checkout my smartphone wouldn't let me. Is there another web sight I can order their products from?
  21. I'd go out and buy some Sebile Magic Swimmers. The soft plastic ones. Great action, but id recommend buying extra hooks for them, as they only come with one.
  22. So I'm looking for a standup football head jig that doesn't have a weedgaurd and comes with a 4/0 hook for my shaky heads. The lakes I fish have tons of rocks, so the standard stand up jig head snag easily. Who makes a good stand up football head without a weedgaurd???
  23. I throw dark colored worms in dirty water, and tend to toss em all in clear water. The smalljaws here like black and green pumpkin in chrystal clear water, too. Dont waste too much time wondering about color. Let the fish show you what they want, regardless of what everyone else is using.
  24. Don't have any pucks here in OR, but we do have lakes that are so d**n overcrowded with perch and bluegill (all less than the size of ur hand). I've got to the point where whenever I catch perch I kill em. d**n things were planted by some morons thinking about the smallmouth population in lakes dominated by largemouth. The spines on the tiny suckers always nail me, too.
