Or try fishing B.B. Bridge. It is dangerous, as water levels tend to fluctuate quickly because of the dam, but there's a ton of lmb and smb to be caught. Fish with Kalins grub (cant remember color was gray body with black flake) on a football head... Probably half oz. I loved bb bridge. Just remember to leave when ya start noticing the water is rising.

I saw this message several weeks ago. I have given clubs a thought, and lots of it. The problem comes down to my work schedule. Because its unpredictable and involves a ton of traveling, I can't seem to do anything that revolves around specific dates. I've had to reschedule a doctors appointment 4 times now because of the job. Talk about frustrating. And expensive. This is why currently I would like some fishin buddies and clubs are, unfortunately, not an option.

Football jig: its head looks just as it sounds, like a sideways football. These jigs are best in rocks, as the wider head makes them harder to snag up. Grass Jig: This one can be a tricky one, as there are several different grass jigs. Some are made with essentially a worm weight for there head, wich allows them to be flipped and pitched into places with better penetration AND slides though grass easily. Other grass jigs are punching jigs, wich are made for penetrating thick grass mats in mind. These jigs are often heavy, anywhere from 3/4 oz for thinner mats to 2 1/2 ounces for punching through really thick grass mats. Swim jigs; essentially any jig can be swimmer. For me, swimming a jig has always been a tactic than a specific lure. Arky(sp?) jigs: a jig made for skipping underneath docks, laydowns, ect. Use these (with LOTS of practice) any time you want to flip or pitch a jig in scenarios that are otherwise impossible to flip or pitch to. Hair Jig: just as it sounds, as mentioned above. A jig made with hair or feathers as opposed to plastic. Great for use in winter or when fish are really in a funk during a cold front. I hope this helps.

I fish in the pacific northwest. We got lots of rain. With lots of rain, comes lots of dirty water. So dirty that ya gotta almost bump em on the nose, too. My favorite colors are black, black and blue, chartreuse, green pumpkin, and orange when u can find it. However, keep in mind, often times when bass are living in dirty water, their nose is practically touching cover. So remember, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Try throwing straight at cover.

Seems like y'all are givin tiny lures the shout out. They are good, but also try throwing 9" zoom lizards, Zoom Ol Monsters, and 6" yum dingers. Trust me when I say you won't catch as many small ones. My pb was a 6pld 5 oz largmouth, caught on a kvd red eye shad. I've caught more big fish on lizards, though.

If u can find it, check out Sebile flatt shad 77 Su and pick a color similar to any of the above. You'll pick one up and notice the difference immediately. Emphasis on 77su!!!

My dad, an avid (...salmon...) fishermen always used to preach at me that if your going to put money into anything, put it in the reel. I have said it for as long as I can remember... Until I started bass fishing. I don't have a great selection of rods or reels. I have one Abu Garcia 7'6" Heavy Action pool cue I bought for flipping and pitching paired with a Abu Garcia 6501C Round reel. I have to say, it isn't super high quality, but it was 100 plus when it was bought. Unfortunately, its not a low profile reel, and its rather slow at about 5:4:1. I just caught my new pb on the set up while ripping with lipless crainkbaits. Such an abomination should not be successful. My Dad also said a great fishermen only needs one rod-and that he's a poor fishermen. Lol. Goes to show you it comes to preference. I have a quantum that I can't identify, it was a freebie. 6:3:1 and, regardless of where the drag is at, always seems to backlash. I think the reel is most important, not necessarily type, but I would pay more for it than a rod, any day.

Dont rule-out mono! Its been around the longest, is cheaper, and I find Berkley Big Game in 20pld low vis green all I need for flipping and pitching in willows, laydowns,and standing timber. I do prefer flouro when I'm making long casts when the water is clear, and braid when punchin grass mats. Like hooah said, one line does not rule em all. But brands do. Lol. Edit: flouro I prefer Seagar invis-x, mono I prefer Berkley big game, and braid, for me at least, seems to not have a ton of differences from name to name. Disclaimer:I don't recommend Berkley Vanish. Terrible line. My least favorite.

I worked for a grocery store in Gig Harbor, WA before I moved to OR. I was working the register and a customer walked over and bought cigarettes on her card. I am a smoker, but couldn't help but almost lose it. I called my manager to see if it were legal, she told me it was. I couldn't believe it. It was obvious the customer knew where I stood. I never saw her again.

It took me 6-8 weeks to get "the goodies" and after all that time I have to wonder if it was worth it. Not to be ungrateful, but i found myself to be disappointed. They advertise so much value in a payed membership, and i gotta wonder if its really there. I did the math and came up with less than 45 dollars in gear and there DVD, didn't calculate the hat or bag, but i wouldn't pay the remaining 55 for these items. The rest of the membership must be valued in the magazine subscription, and for 55 for 5 years i don't know what to think. Am i the only one who thinks this way? Sorry to say but i do feel like a sucker.

Not really not available. More like not carried. My buddy bought it at a tackle shop that has since gone out of business. He only has the one, and wed both like to find more. 13-17 dollars bait. They are made in France and, like most lures companies these days, are owned by pure fishing under Sebile (made famous by there magic swimmer and magic swimmer soft). Good idea on lookin it up on there countries sight though. Pm me about how I translate it with google. I'm 24 but not really tech savvy. I'd rather be fishin then plugged in. Thanks in advance.

G8R that's such a sneaky way to do it it may work- or make me listen to I'm gonna miss her by brad paisley. Too much a gamble. Lund, your thinkin on the matter is probably close to perfect. I know I can't be the only person who has a zero tolerance policy on fishing ignorance such as wearing bright colors, walking to hard, throwing rocks (my dad about killed me when I was a kid for that) and I need to tune that down some as it tends not to discriminate. Buzz, I would have absolutely no problem with leavin my gear at home, problem is I can't get her on the lake even without gear. And she doesn't fish really. She reads. I suspect the only reason she went with me as much as she did was because it was something that got us together. Not for the catching. But I still miss her company sometimes, and want to talk to her about my outings. Especially as I start up tournaments this year or next. Thank you, gentlemen, as I now believe I have the idea as to what I should do about it. Its simple, really. Shut up. And get into golf.

Thanks for all replies. I've looked into the rattle trap lures, super spots, and the rapala subwalk. The rapala is more of a lipless rip bait and seems to have the wrong profile for what I'm planning. I'll probably try one just cause ya never really know. In the end its not what we as the fishermen like, its what the fish like. I have some hope for the super spots. Same with the rattle traps. I'll pick one up to see how it suspends. The Sebile is a killer bait in the right color (top secret lips are sealed) but when u stop it, it stops. It dives just above the weeds at my local lakes and won't go much further. I don't have one, my buddy does, and while I was bussy removing salad from my KVD red eye he was bussy rippin lips. The profile of this particular crainkbait is a good kinda different. I just cant find a place that sells it in the right color. I'm not gonna close this thread though, in case someone knows something even better. I'll wait a couple. Keep checking back if your as curious as I am.

Just realized I didnt really ask a question. What I want to know are what other options do I have to find this lure? What are lures you guys have trouble finding? What do you guys do to solve this problem when you encounter it?

I like how yall are thinking. I may try and persuade her to wake up nice and early on a weekend not to far from now, take her to breakfast, and then pound the banks. Thing with letting her fish is she doesn't posses the want for it. When she used to come with me she would bring a book, kick back in the shade, and read, completely oblivious to what was going on around her. Ill point out an Eagle. She doesn't even look up. I live in Eagle Point, OR, and do a ton of fishing at in the Eagle Point area. I dont have the money for going places like northern california but Id like to meet some bass fishermen, preferably with boats, to fish places like Emigrant, Hyatt, Agate, Applegate, and many other good bass lakes. I live, breath, and sleep fishing, and am hoping to find a like minded individual to possibly learn a few things from. Thanks.

While the Umpqua River and Columbia River get tons of credit, Southern Oregon Lakes, such as Lake Selmac (largemouth responsible for 2 state records, potential third) Agate Lake ( primarily largemouth with a few smalljaws, 7, 8, and 9 plders are caught every year) Emigrant Lake (smallmouth and largemouth) Hyatt Lake for numbers in Largemouth, Applegate for smallmouth, and many more lakes have OUTSTANDING bass fishing in southern OR. Recently caught my new PB @ Lake Selmac (Take exit 55 on I5, get on Redwood Highway and youll see signs after about 20 miles) and my buddy pulled out a 4 and a 5 MINUTES before on back to back casts.

I have looked on Tackle Warehouse, Bass Pro, Cabelas, Tackle Center, Sportsmans Warehouse, Sebileusa.com (cant order on there sight. who would have thought???) While I agree with the whole part of shell find something to be mad at you about in another minute or two, I also believe its time to get it settled. Solve the problem. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to want to solve it, shed rather complain about it. Come on, man, can I win?
