Owl Tries To Steal Frog Lure
Mora Companion is hands down the most unheard of blade on the planet. Literally for less than 20 bucks you are getting a blade thats worth over 100. Plus, its scandi grind is absolutely perfect for bushcraft, which goes hand in hand with fishing.

Owl Tries To Steal Frog Lure
Heh, Kabar Kukri style machete, 11 inch blade, 2 pounds of FSU along with a Mora Companion are part of my standard fishing equipment. Gotta love being in a open carry state for edged tools

The One That Got Away
Ive learned 49 lb braid is the end game for saving equipment. Bout the same casting distance as 12lb mono, atleast on a baitcaster, but strong enough to do anything. I have balsa wood cranks that hhave gone through 3-4 hooks on both front and back but are still fully operational. Earlier this year i pulled an entire christmas tree out of the water. Just make sure you carry an old jacket or something thick and soft that can go around your arm. 30-40 lbs of pressure from fishing line being wrapped around your arm is no joke

Thats why you should carry a Ka-Bar

Ewg Hooks
tbh you could get away with just 1/0, though the ribbontails on 1/0 might prove tricky

Owl Tries To Steal Frog Lure
Pin its head down with the rod, then get your boot on the very back of its skull and work from there. or do the same with your thumb then wrap your hand around with some serious pressure. Getting them down is scary, tad dangerous, controlling them is easy as pie, Getting rid of them without getting bit is rather dangerous, depending on the aggressiveness. Mean ones like to do a 180 and get ya. Others go on their way....Best bet is to just throw them, far.

Owl Tries To Steal Frog Lure
This morning as i was trying to revive a dying fish (RIP lil feller) a bunch of these tiny birds (4 or 5) swarmed me and basically did an old school pokemon style "wing attack" at me. They never touched me, but i could feel the wind as my heart nearly exploded from the surprise. After i let go and hunkered down they dragged it to shore and pecked it like no tomorrow. Last year i hooked a 45 lb turtle....probably my most interesting non fish fishing encounter. "ITS A BIG STICK, Nope.....Its Franklins Mother....Uhhh what do i do now"

Went Out Fishing Today People Are So Mean
"Yet with all my tattoos, i could outfish you using my toenail as a hook" In all reality, ive been criticized for doing the weirdest things that catch fish, for instance, burning a jigging spoon with braided line on a high speed reel through shallows. As this guy is laughing at me, i pulled in an 8lber, 10 minutes later a 6lber. meanwhile hes catching nothing then up and leaves. Then theres all the weird looks i get for listening to rock, metal, and rap while fishing in a hoodie on a warm day. Truth is though, fishing is only a spectator sport if youre pro, and even then to the fisherman it shouldnt be. Fish for you, not for them.

Post Spawn Curiosity..
Try hitting the water 12-3pm, Spring tends to be a couple hours different from the normal "sun rise sun set rule" Think its because the early spring sun reflects off the water and tends to set everything back. Results may vary, but this is when i always have my best luck in the spring.

Carolina Rigging
Just my personal experience, braid works wonders with carolina rig, even more so on a high speed reel. Sensitivity boost is just magical

6 Th Sense Baits
Yea id say chartreuse based colors...Naturals produce a lot less when the dirt is swirling

The One That Got Away
You need the braid haha

The One That Got Away
4 years of bass fishing and ive yet to lose a monster, caught a 12, 10's, 3 8's and tons below...And the biggest fish ive seen lost was a little 8 inch largemouth who got launched about 100 ft when i set the hook on my topwater...heh However, im pretty sure ive lost a couple 5's. Then again, theres always those "20 pounder" stick monster stories. "HES A BIG UN!....Dang he threw the hook *cough*"

Snakes Climb In The Boat
The only time you have to worry about snakes is when theyre nested up, or its sunny out. Funny how their bodies work, Cold wet days you can grab their tail and hold them out, and they more than likely couldnt get you. Sunny days, not having control of the head is a sure fire way to get snapped a couple times

Snakes Climb In The Boat
Never seen one climb into a boat, but i did have one sink its fangs into a hollow body frog......little wretched

Bad Hook Set
Glad there's at least someone here that realizes a bass nor its body of water is universal.

Bad Hook Set
They dont die, and i fish small lizards with long tails with small hooks. My baits are rarely spit out. Ill say it for the 50th time, from MY EXPERIENCE, they snap the tail, then attack the head. Keep in mind, im saying this for one particular style that i prefer almost year round, and thats dragging lizards on the bottom. I dont do this with worms, i dont even fish creatures. I'm starting to think this forum is less fisherman and more "fishees" that just believe anything some guy gets paid to say. Whered all the creative fisherman go?

Weird Growth On Lip
Its a fish disease, which, i dont have a clue. Ive caught one fish like this, and it had 4 of these things, scales falling off, just looked extremely sickly. Couldnt tell you what it is, but it reminds me of long exposure to small amounts of radiation.

Ever Seen A Bass With Red Eyes
Never seen red eyes, but i have seen red "rings" on the eyes
-
Bad Hook Set
i spend 8+ hours on the water weekly, have for 4 years. I can more than distinguish between a bass and bluegill. Like ive said, ive watched them constantly snap at the tail, then attack the head.
-
Bad Hook Set
Not Bream, i sight fish a lot. They constantly snap the tail then attack the head. Couldnt tell you why but the only time i havent witnessed this trend is in 45 or below water
-
Bad Hook Set
Just from this year alone i already have 12 tailless lizards. From the past 3 years, ive probably melted down over 200. Why dont you people stop quoting someone else and do some information gathering on your own with experience.
-
Bad Hook Set
It may sound wrong, but when your dragging lizards on the bottom ive come to learn real quick the first tap is almost always a tail strike and setting it then is just a lost fish. Listening to a pro is probably the stupidest thing one could do if personal experience shows otherwise. Now with hardbaits, sure slam that hook. But anything that is slow presentation, you need to have patience with.
