  1. Shad can be naturally moved there by ducks...So if you see ducks coming and going theres a decent chance there might be some shad. Especially during and just after they spawn
  2. Sounds almost like me. My entire trunk is packed with fishing gear, backseats are reserved for emergency supplies, and the passenger is my survival EDC.
  3. Why was i expecting this to be a post about a college kid fishing in a bathtub
  4. Sand, Rock, Mud, Clay, and this stuff i like to call "Afro Grass", have no idea what is it though
  5. I know id be hitting the western docks on belmont and dockside as much as possible....and probably "work" my way east onto the farmland...heh. Nice little area there though, entire place is pretty much open water, yet it still has the funnel effect
  6. Texas imo, weightless or weighted dependent. creatures i tend to do a hop or 2 and then pause Worms i tend to swim 3-4 reels then pause. Wacky rigs also work wonders
  7. Whichever doesnt eat the crap out of my lures on that particular day
  8. Just my 2 cents, im not what youd call an expert, but, id go with the section where the little north stream enters. start in the middle work my way in, trying to find any trenches or drop offs.
  9. McCotter is the top guide for the area.....Believe all the guides only operate on the public side of the lake though. Hot side is where all the secrets are at haha
  10. Sounds like you should go after a graphite/glass hybrid rod. Amazingly lightweight, yet has a great backbone
  11. Is it one of the stupid seasonal ponds that are mistreated and deemed fish killers, yet even though the pond has problems they constantly stock it and close it for months every year? Seriously wish i could sue owners of those for animal abuse, even if it is the city.
  12. Pouring your own is long term saving...like really long term, especially if you go injection molds....those things run 100-300 bucks. standard molds run under 100 generally....but still. Thats a ton of cash to be putting all your fish into one barrel basically
  13. Mend-It is much much more effective, you should check it out. like 10 bucks will get ya a couple hundred saved plastics
  14. Do anything i can to not type in amazon or bassresource really...hah
  15. I dont know how people can keep plastics in bags and not have it drive them insane. Ive always Plano'd mine, scent isnt much of a factor in my book
  16. Does anyone else tie a little knot on the tag end of braid knots to prevent the "fraying" from getting down to the knot? Ive seen people use lighters, and others ignore it, but i seem to be alone on this. Never seen it cause any problems. If anything, it gives a little extra security, i doubt it could pull through
  17. Finally got up to 49 degree water here in central VA...So close to 50's, yet so far away
  18. Sounds like youre letting youre line go slack...id be cussing a storm and throwing my gear if i lost 4 in a row
  19. 180 dollars......heeeeeeeck no
  20. Go far north, then far south, find the rocks and find out which is holding fish and warmer water
  21. Could also run Lipless cranks, work the bait up instead of down
  22. Sexy shad and bluegill 1.5 strike kings work wonders
  23. Red is the first color to turn black in water, Blue is the fifth. ROYGBIV, Find your depth, find your color.
  24. I carry a large berkley tacklebag...In it i have quite a few cranks, some 2', others 6'. 3 buzzbaits, 2 frogs, 1 popper, and some interesting grasshopper topwater i picked up but have yet to use. Then i have a decent variety of plastics, some for wacky rigs, some for texas, some for shakey head, and a couple of trailers for the 2 jigs i use. Also have 6/8/12 lb mono, 12lb flouro and 49 lb braid in it. Personally im not too concerned about weight, i have a 25 lb EDC that never leaves my side so ive adapted quite well. As for colors i stick to blacks, blues, and green pumpkin, although i do have the odd bumblegum or cotton candy just incase
