  1. I also like Northland Thumper jigs rigged with a grub or a minnow. Primarily used up north for Walleye but the 3/8 works well for bass. Cheap and well made.
  2. I can't begin to guess how many bags of Havoc Pit's I have. Great bait
  3. Cabela's Go-To DT Skirt Just flat catches fish for me. Usually T-rig them weightless and do a slow stop and go twitchy retrieve.
  4. I love my PQ. With that said, you could pick pretty much anything that has been mentioned here and get a decent workhorse of a reel. Go to a big box and check them out. If it feel right TO YOU...you got your pick. The PQ felt right in my hand. I bought it..fish the heck out of...and it hasn't failed me yet.
  5. I haven't tried this particular one but I've had good luck with BPS stuff. They catch fish, run true, and at that price you can lose it and not stress about it.
  6. 20 lb Power Pro Slick. Worth the investment from Regular PP? Don't know..don't care. Gives me confidence, I'm used to using it and my reels are dialed into it. I've never had it break and I've never had it come untied. I generally use a Fluorocarbon leader so I lose 6 ft of fluoro instead of 50 ft of PP if I get snagged beyond repair. Can't go wrong with the PP.
  7. If you're asking me about the BPS Square bills I've caught a bunch on the sexy shad. I actually like it better than the KVD 1.5 Sexy Shad that I also have. Runs straighter I guess the color is Gold XXX Shad. I also like Chartreuse/Black Back and Chrome Black Back. I've caught a few on the OJ Brown Craw, as well. About the only one that hasn't caught fish is the red craw. Just haven't had any luck with it
  8. I think I'm gonna find out. I spend 2 weeks in Minnesota every summer and do a lot of Musky and Pike fishing. I need this. (Who am I kidding...need? No. Want? Yes)
  9. Nope..not that smart...lol
  10. Another MO guy here. North of KC about 50 miles. Welcome aboard!!
  11. That guy does some nice work
  12. I've used (and lost) a ton of these. They just flat work.
  13. I don't catfish and keep a separate box for my panfish and smaller stuff. I might take both when I go but one usually stays in the truck.
  14. Power Pro Slick 8 user here. 20 lb works great for me. LOVE it. First time I cast it, I couldn't believe it. It DOES lose it's color quick but who cares?
  15. Been thinking about a ribbed body senko type bait with ribbon tails attached to each end and then fished on a weighted wacky jig. I'm thinking the ribs would slow the fall rate a litle and the ribbon tails would obviously provide a lot of flutter. Thoughts?
  16. I DO use a fluoro leader but it has nothing to do with visibility. I bank fish mostly in some pretty gnarly areas with tons of downed trees and lots of stuff to snag on. I'd rather lose 5 feet of fluoro with my jig and than 50 ft of braid with my jig
  17. You really want your mind blown? Pure Fishing is a Subsidiary of Darden. Check out the brands THEY own. http://www.jarden.com/brands
  18. You're asking permission to commit fraud? Uhhhmmm.....sure go ahead. I don't have to look at you in the mirror.
  19. Me likey..I got a couple of old frogs that will see this mod. THANKS!!
  20. This!! At that price point, find the one you like and feels best to you and buy it. You would be hard pressed to find a bad one. I personally use PQ's from Bass Pro (which are a lot cheaper than what you are looking at) and love them BUT I'm not going to recommend them because they may not be what you want.
  21. Nope....haven't really had much trouble with them, i guess. I just accept that the smaller ones are floaters. As I've seen others say, bigger trebles or a suspend dot would do the trick. I've paid so little for them at Dicks Clearance sales that I've never really cared and I've caught plenty of fish with them.
  22. I like the Twitch sticks, too. Both suspending (Size 10) and floating (Size 8). They are cheap and have great action and a lot of good colors. I've had the best luck with Firetiger and Bluegill. Cheap enough that if you lose one, you don't give it a second thought..(unless you're catching fish on it that day!!)
  23. I DO buy the best terminal tackle and baits that I can afford.
  24. Exactly...I got into a minor "argument" on here a while back about the length of a rod and flipping and pitching. After a while, I realized that I was wrong to argue about anything. I use what I use and others use what they use. My opinion is just that and means nothing to someone else. And that's ok. I catch fish...they catch fish. Life is good and goes on.
