Thanks !! Tough day for sure. Had to scrap my game plan around lunch. No bites till 1:00. Went looking deep and found a couple of points with fish on them. Wish I would have made the move earlier. Oh well live and learn....

Fish were very active today , despite the bad weather. Found fish busting shad in 53 degree water. Staging fish full of eggs !! More details after sat.

Fish are on the move !! Most fish are void of my winter time spots. Caught fish staging on secondary points and caught some trap fish. My flipping rod also got bent in the bushes !!!!?

Sorry Catt .. Just retrieved my password . Lol . i always forget it !!!! Now for my report . Wednesday day started around lunch time and ended up with 19. Caught most of the fish on the ole Carolina rig brush hog. The bigger fish came on the crank bait and the jig. All fish were caught in 15 to 20 fow. Thursday went looking for new areas and ended up with 20 with nothing over 2.5. All fish caught on football jig and Carolina rig. I can't find a shallow bite yet !! Won't be long !!!!!!

Yes creek channels that come close to flats. when they are not as active I will get more toward the creek and drop the spoon when I find them on my electronics . Even when they are in the creek they are still close to the bottom.

Fished half a day Tuesday and half a day Wednesday. Caught 37 Tuesday afternoon and 18 Wednesday morning. Fish are more active in the afternoon hours. Caught fish on spoons and football jigs. 15 to 20 fow. "Important" VERTICAL DROP !!!! Water 62 degrees. Good water clarity mid ways back in creeks.

Caught about 30 yesterday afternoon . All on spoons !!! They were feeding heavy about the last two hrs. 1/2 oz nickle slab spoons worked for me.

Also had a pretty good weekend on the bend !! Friday caught 25 with one that went 5 and another that went 9.03!! All of big fish caught on a swing head jig with a speed craw trailer. Numbers were caught on spoons and drop shots. Sunday was a little slower but did manage a couple around 5lbs. End of flats in 12 to 15 fow .

I have better luck with 1/2 oz slab spoons. It's all about the bait. They seem to hit the spoon when they won't hit anything else. creek channels that come close to the edge of flats is where I'm doing my damage. Hard bottom is key.

Had a great day in the bend today. Caught 40 to 50 on spoons and football jigs. Most in 12-15 fow. Best one was pushing 7. These fish are gorging on shad. Fat as footballs.

Numbers were north but the better fish were south. Can't figure them out after the morning bite. So that's when I head north lol.

Fishing was pretty good yesterday. Found fish relating to creek channels where it would swing in close to a hump or flat. Fish seemed to be ganged up. Caught a couple on top water and worm but most came on a 1/4 oz slab spoon on the drops. Ended up with about 30 with probably 18 keepers. Biggest was 4lbs. Fished housen and San Miguel.

Headed that way myself tomorrow. Gonna be on the rise that's for sure. Water should be cooling down and hopefully the fish will be active. Good luck.

Today was a lot tougher on me. The bite was off not near as much activity going on as usual. I would have figured it would have been on before this little front. Oh well I'll get em next week. Good luck to all.

There are a bunch of fish in San Miguel chasing shad about mid ways back on the flats. They are making their way further back in San Miguel every day. Any shad imitation bait has been working. Early and late have been the best action.

I caught some nice fish a couple of weeks ago from jacks 944 to the main lake on the west side on the edge of the grass in about 7 fow. All fish were caught on a plum Apple 7 inch worm.

I also agree the best humps I have found seem to always relate to a creek channel. I have found that there are usually larger schools of fish that are found on humps close to a migratory route.

I have had better luck on slab spoons. Today was a different story. All my fish came on a crank bait. Caught about 20 with most being 3 to 4 lbs. I guess this front had them eating. Stumbled up on these fish . Found a hump that is not on any map I know of. Probably some fish that haven't been molested. Lol

The lake seems to be dropping fast !! Down At the camp this weekend and the fishing has been so so. Catching them early on humps and a couple of points on a football jig and a couple on a spoon. Caught some nice ones in the 5lb range with a couple of 3s mixed in. Just not as many bites as I was hoping. Now some yard work and may fish a little while in the morning.

Fished yesterday San Miguel area. Wanted to fish deep but found all my fish shallow on shallow points close to deep water. Caught most all on a white swim jig in about 3 fow. Nothing big . Did catch a few out deep. Water is rising and staining up.

Had a good weekend on the bend. Caught most of my better fish on frogs and swimjigs. There was a shad spawn going on the first couple of hrs. If the morning. Got the kids on a mess of white bass and even found a couple of bream beds.
