Got Me A Live Target Frog On The Way
[quote name="BassinLou" post="1705282" timestamp="1424265836 I would not be too overly concerned if you can't walk it however. Popping them in thick to sparse cover is very effective and easier to do. 1. Don't be afraid to throw the frog into nasty cover. The frog can handle it. When a bass takes a frog, be sure the bass has the frog and set the hook hard. Let your rod work with you. I cannot emphasize this enough. .

Popr Or Buzzbait?
For me in that situation and sticking with a top water as you mentioned, I'd throw a pad crasher jr and/or bronze eye frog jr. I'd get to the heart of the cover and not worry about treble hooks of the poper and keep in the strike zone much longer compared to the buzz bait. Just my preference.

Best Soft Plastic Craw?
There are many that work well, I use strike king rage tail, netbaits paca chunk, berkley chigger craw and pit boss. Use varies: jig traliors, on their own t/rigged weighted or unweighted. Bass love em and all come in a multitude of colors and sizes. Another I just received but have not put into use yet is the V&M wild thang, looks great though.

When To Use What Jig Head?
I use three styles: Arkie and brush ( flat bottom) for pitching to cover. Bullet head for swimming. Weights I prefer are 1/4 and 3/8 for the mostly shallow lakes in my area.

Legged Frogs Vs Stringed Frogs
I use the skirted frogs , spro, live target, and booyah. They all work well. My favorite is the spro popping frog. Always have one tied on and they work great in the many shallow lakes and ponds in my area. Cast around and right into the heart of cover, (pads , laydowns , ect ). Hollow body frogs have caught me a ton of bass over the years, good luck to you!

Check Ur Dicks Sporting Goods
I have 3 dsg stores near me, one large store ( two floors) has a good amount of merchandise and frequent it often, while the other two are smaller and close to useless. So it will depend on the size of store as to how much they stock.
