  1. I have used 8 pound Shooter Sniper Metan on my Met 13, and I like it a lot. Very soft manageable for Fluorocarbon imo. I just purchased 12 pound Shooter Sniper to try it out as much crankbait/jerkbait line.
  2. I don't remember how much it cost, but I used my little green Shakespear combo for good 10 years without maintenance.
  3. They are the same OEM as Lews.
  4. I bought one to try it out, and I immediately noticed that it ran right when I was retrieving. After taking a closer look, there was a big lump of epoxy or plastic on one side. I will just buy the 110s since I know what I can expect from MB. If I want to save money, I would order them from Japan.
  5. You get a lot more breaking pressure being applied to SVS Infinity than regular SVS I think. Breaks have much higher surface area than previous ones.
  6. Braid is much lighter than nylon/fluorocarbon, this paired with the force from casting big swimbait can make the spool a lot faster. The limpness of the braid doesn't help either, I would often get weird cross over further into the spool without having any previous backlash, that I discover after making long casts. Things are just too wild and unpredictable for me, especially dealing with expensive baits.
  7. What don't you like about CR722 IMX or GLX? It balances extremely well with lighter reels, and it would be perfect for what you want to use.
  8. After using braid on my big bait reel for 4 months. I can say that I won't be doing this again; it is just accident waiting to happen.
  9. they both break at around 18. Japan generally rating goes by true breaking point while US does whatever they want.
  10. A lot of them have blanks made from China, Malaysia, or Thailand.Edit* rolled is more accurate. most of their carbon material is made in Japan I believe.
  11. The rod will be perfectly fine for this application, and there is no reason why you can't use it from the shore.
  12. 5000 yen for shipping 2000 yen for handling.
  13. You have to understand that MB's target market is Japan. Versatility becomes very valuable, when it is pain in the butt to carry multiple combos.
  14. Easily Metanium 13 for around 260.
  15. My condolences for the lost Calais DC...
  16. You can comfortably throw anything between 1/2 oz to 6 oz.
  17. I know there are some ultra high end pistol grips available in Japan. The blanks and the reel seat are seperate, and they run anywhere between 100 to 200 for the reel seat, and 300-400 for the blank with guides attached to it. If you want to give him something special, I would buy a reel seat (they are just gorgeous) and have someone make a custom glass blank to go with it.
  18. The retrieve is very rigid, smooth, and you can feel all of the gears fitting into each other perfectly. You don't have that in SS SV; the retrieve just kind of glides through without having any rigidity nor the "gearliness" you would expect from high end Daiwas so it feels much cheaper.
  19. Yeah I am just making an extreme statement, not quoting you or anything. I just want to get my point across that Steez SV still has the refined internals of Steez that is worth the extra $$ over SS SV in my mind.
  20. JDM Steez Limited also had the Zaion sideplates and MG frame. You can say the same thing about the Steez EX and SS SV since they share "same frame shape", but the internals are completely different animal. Steez SV has same internals as JDM Steez Limited from what I heard. It's like comparing Metanium 13 to Curado I "because they look the same" .
  21. USA Steez is the water down(shorter handles, no feel cover, oil, nor blings) version of Limited Steez. SS SV does not have the smooth well connected feels that high end Daiwa Reels has, and is a poor comparison to the new steez sv.
  22. You guys are worried about putting Shimano on Megabass? Balance point
  23. Do you have same expectation of things as a fish does?
  24. What's up with your hate on SVS Infinity reels
  25. Congrats John! Its beautiful.
