  3. so if i go with casting gear i need to look for say a 6-6'6 medium/xtra fast rod? or a medium lite?
  4. so the 5:2 spinning reel would work fine for finesse worms?
  5. what would be a good spinning setup for this.? i have a spinning setup i purchased years ago but never really used. its a 6ft medium bps graphite series with a bps spinning reel like a 5:2:1 ratio. would definitely upgrade that rod and reel if needed
  6. awesome rod. ive got a 6'6 mh guide can be fixed and agree it would make a good frog rod
  7. never thrown weightless or wacky rigged stuff but plan to expand my techniques this season. bought some senkos and flickshakes, etc. some wacky hooks, jigheads. is this something that would better require a spinning setup?
  8. arent they on sale tho? or is that the regular guide ones for like 89?
  9. yea sort of goldish orange color.
  10. anyone use any of the older carbonlite reels? found a couple in classifieds that are an orange color and look almost identical to a PQ. just wondering if these are good reels?
  11. r the guides on the new ones as good as the black ones?

  13. seriously? man i was set on picking up a st croix avid but after reading all this i may just go do a trade in and grab a carbonlite
  14. think im gonna pair the rod with a Tatula 6.3:1
  15. picked up a Lamiglas excel 2 glass rod and aside from crankbaits what other techniques do u guys use a glass rod for? i figured topwAter but im also wondering if anyone throws buzzbaits or spinnerbaits on them sometimes? figured it would help with allowing the fish to take the bait without ripping it from its mouth. i like the rod it feels like it has a little more power than my powell diesel
  16. anyone use a reel that has a twitching bar and do they work well ? every now and then i see a deal on something like a daiwa viento and was just curious

  19. what about the rod? i only mentioned the carbonlite cuz it can b had at a heck of a deal right now. no idea the sensitivity. i know the basspro mh/f rods are pretty stout so i should be good with a 7' mh
  20. i bought a few 1/4oz and a few 3/8-1/2oz jigs. occasionally moderate cover.
  21. would a 7ft heavy xtra fast carbonlite make a good jig rod? just starting to get into jig fishing and in need of a good rod.
  22. a few jigs some berkley plastics, chatterbaits etc. my bps still has plenty of carbonlites and PQs i may go one day this week and pick up one
