  1. Found some 3" & 4" Havoc Pit Boss at Academy in KS. Had 2 packs of Saphire Blue, & had several Junebug, Californian
  2. I have 6 Powell Inferno rods & I love them. Actually use them more than my Dobyn's Furys or 13's. Great rod for the money, also dig the microguides on casting rods!!
  3. Was at WC today & guys at guardshack said their contract( Sheriffs dept) is up April 1st. They said Sherrifs dept asked for more money to operate lake & power plant told them no. if it doesn't get resolved, power plant can shut down lake. One idea thrown out was pay to fish. I know I would have zero issue with paying to fish there. Best lake in our whole areas, sure hope they get it resolved!!!!
  4. I have several of each rod(Fury & Inferno). I personally like the infernos a little better, especially the 705CB. Both rods are great for price point!!
  5. Rage Menace is all I have used for jig & chatterbait trailers. Best year of fishing I have ever had so I sticking to what has been golden!
  6. Bluebasser86 makes the best Chatterbaits I have ever used! Color selection is unreal
  7. Good morning all. Anyone have a recommendation for replica fish mounts that you have used before? Thanks in advance!
  8. Rage Tail Menace all the time, just wish they were good for more than a fish or 2. I go through them at s record pace!
  9. Ned rig. Not uncommon to catch many species on same bait in the same day here in the Midwest. Have caught LM, SM, Spots, Crappie, Walleye, Wipers/Whites, Catfish, Drum, Trout. I'm not sure there is a species that won't bite it!
  10. C&C custom baits made by Blubasser86, hook up ratio is incredible!
  11. Went to Wolf Creek on Fri & Sat, fished 5-6 hours each trip. Bite is a little slower than it's been the last few weeks. Still plenty of smallies willing to bite, with bigger fish coming on bigger baits. Bunch of boat trailers in parking lot last 2 days so surely someone else is out enjoying this weather! Water temps 63-64 Friday & up to 66 yesterday.
  12. Fished Wolf Creek from 9-2 today. The 10mph North wind predicted felt like 25mph today, holy cow! Quality of brown fish was substantial from last Friday but quantity was down. Solid fish were not right on rocks, out in 6-10 ft. Only fished south end of lake. There were 10 boats on lake when I arrived. Water temps were 70-72.
  13. Went to Wolf Creek today from 7:30-1. Fishing was very, very good with quality to go along with quantity. Fished southern half of the lake, lake was up a little. Most fish came out of 2-5 feet of water. Prob 50 caught out of my boat Tourney down there tomorrow(Sat) as they were setting up for it today, just an FYI
  14. Fished Melvern this morning from 7-12:30. Water level is very high(jetty by marina only about 6 feet out of the water.) Fishing was not great but we prob caught 25-30. Talked to another boat that had about the same luck
  15. Huddleston 68 & Bull shad, my 2 cents
  16. I have 2 of the Inferno 705CB's & 1 of the Dobyns Fury 705CB. I personally like the Infernos better. I throw lipless, squarebills, Rock Crawlers and Chatterbaits on it. Great all around moving bait rods for the $$!
  17. Went to Melvern this morning. Fished from 9-2:30. Water temp was 58-59 in TC & Eisenhower. Caught fish from first cast until time we left. A few solid brown fish but most were very small. Could not get bit on anything beside a Ned, and believe me I tried. Caught the bass trifecta along with numerous whites, Dam was en fuego! Every place we stopped, we caught fish.
  18. I have 2 Dobyns Fury & 1 Powell Inferno. Honestly, I love both brands. I have the Fury 705CB & 765 Flip and the 734 Powell spinnerbait rod. Awesome rods for the price & plan getting another of each soon. Both brands very lightweight but strong backbone!!
  19. HUK fishing shirts are very comfortable and have vents inside of arms and lower back. Have SPF as well. You can also buy from them direct. Just my 2 cents
  20. Went to Melvern on Sunday. Primarily fished TC & Eisenhower due to the wind. Was very slow on my boat but caught a few including one nice fish in TC on a Ivy BHW
  21. Have not used them extensively, but was fishing with a guy recently that had one of the lipless tied on. We got into a school of whites and he was catching them 5 to my 1. I was using RES in a similar color. Not sure if it was coincidence, but was enough to make me buy a few!
  22. Fished Wolf Creek from 7-12:30ish. Was pretty much non stop action. Lots of little smallies & largies mixed in with a few solid fish. Caught lots of big ol white bass in the outlet. Just a few other boats on the water. Prob 50-60 fish each between me & a buddy. Water was 58-59 on the dam. All in all a great day on the water.
  23. Good morning, Like Irish Paddler, I decided it was time to start contributing to this thread as well. I have been following it for a while & learned a ton of quality info from you all. My name is Brad & I live in Olathe and mainly fish WC & Melvern, with occasional trips to Lone Star & Gardner. I fish about once a week on the weekends & have actually met many of you at the boat ramps. I typically fish with the same group of 2-3 guys but would like to start going to the weeknight deal you guys do. Love the camaraderie & banter amongst this group and info that is shared. I promise to start contributing. Thanks all for making me a better fisherman! Brad
