  1. Not sure how many people can set the hook 40 to 50 yards out, and expect to boat the fish. That's just a long ways out there, you're not throwing a 10XD. Casting distance doesn't mean squat, unless you're getting those 50 yard fish in the boat, not always likely, oh and I can cast a weightless senko into next week.
  2. TSI 301 TSI 321 ZPI Medium grease Cals drag grease Marine grease
  3. I'd get the LTB, shop around you can get a better price than retail, or call Gary at Tackle Trap.
  4. On a squarebill, I don't think line diameter matters "that" much. I mean it's designed to only dives to 4-5 feet anyway, and I'm not sure going from 17 to 12 will gain you over two feet, YMMV. Where line diameter makes more of a difference is your medium to deep divers. Generally speaking you would use a longer rod therefore a longer cast, then line size will alter depth, I use 12lb. Invisx on everything from a KVD 1.0 to a 10XD. If you need to run it a little deeper, stick your rod tip in the water.
  5. Just call Dobyns, they are very easy to deal with and will give you some options.
  6. Around here USPS is cheapest, odd how it was that much.
  7. I use USPS priority, usually $18 to $25
  8. I love me some Big Game, but not on cranks, I use 12lb Invisx for anything from a KVD 1.0 to a 10XD.
  9. Use some buffing compound on a rag, lightly rub on it and it will go away and be shiny!
  10. I use rubbing alcohol 91% or stuff that's called Formula 88, that stuff stomps the crap out of Simple green.
  11. I don't take the reel off, just put the line on and wind away. Mine is over ten years old and I also have glued in the arm due to the plastic tower broke years ago, still works like a champ!
  12. Dobyns 765cb or 705cb depending, Metanium HG, 15lb Invisx
  13. Thank you Academy and Walmart, not too bad for $109
  14. I use the Fat impact and have great success, recently purchased Big Bite BB kicker and catch rate is excellent and gives out a good thump.
  15. As stated the XG will be too fast, the HG may work better for what you're trying to do. For moving baits I like the Metanium R, I tend to reel fast, so works great for me.
  16. J Francho is spot on, once you get them dialed in better, the less it will happen. I'll get a loose coil or two every trip usually casting lighter baits into the wind. I only had to cut out a backlash once in the last couple of years. Check out this video, it works like magic!
  17. I use the brown in a size 40, I'll get the morning dawn since it looks cool lol
  18. U40 will not "prevent" the cork from getting dirty, just makes cleaning easier. I seal all mine and it does not change the feel.
  19. I use improved clinch (and other knots) for flouro and mono, palomar for braid.
  20. I'll check it out, I appreciate your knowledge!
  21. When I do throw a GY senko it's usually weighless wacky, different conditions will dictate presentations.
  22. Which head is that, looks good? I've been using the Dirty Jigs swimbait head, with good luck. Still trying to find a good weighted swimbait hook. Most I see don't seem to have a large enough gap.
  23. Same with me, I purchased about 10 packs last year, don't think I caught a single fish on them. I love the Keitech fat, the CPS is the cat's meow.
