  1. I have both the 90 and 130 and both work great for me, I do throw the 130 more often though.
  2. Yellow Magic has been the most productive for me.
  3. I use 12lb Invisx on 6xd and 10xd.
  4. Can't go wrong with SK KVD 1.5
  5. I've always used cheap mono for backing, but last year I started using old braid I had laying around.
  6. I use a seven inch Berkley PW in blue flek.
  7. onetime replied to rboat's topic in Fishing Tackle
Lipless is what I throw first, then topwater depending on bite.
  8. I don't like going but usually get talked into it. I'm always the lead guy, the guys and girls I go with have a healthy fear of them. I've never been startled or scared at all, I just don't have that fear in me I guess. We went last Saturday night in Fort Worth place called Hangmans, I think it used to be an old meat processing plant, cost was $140 for four of us. I like to run away from my group and scare the heck out of them lol.
  9. You hear about this almost every year, pretty sad when you take your kids out to trick or treat, you have to be packin'.
  10. You're asking for a Dobyns Champion 734, I think most will agree, as far as versatility, this rod is hard to beat.
  11. I also don't think the line can get into the reel, but it would be great for you to learn how to work on your own reel. It is easy to do and very satisfying when you can fix it yourself. Here isa video that helped me.
  12. I used 1x4 wood and drilled into it, and used 2 inch pvc and screwed it down. Out of the way and doesn't take up much real estate.
  13. I use a Dobyns DX 703 in tight cover or a DX 744 for more open water.
  14. I use a Dobyns 705cbmf works great.
  15. I have both and use the 735 for what you are looking for.
  16. I'm a Dobyns fan boy myself, I have fished with the E6X buddy has, nice rod, but I don't like them better than the Champ series. Here are my recommendations for your three rods. Memorial Day sales begin in a couple days! Champ 734 or 704 plastics/jigs/bottom contact Champ 705cbmf for treble baits (actually lots of options here) Champ 702 for finesse applications Obviously lots of options on length and power depending on your needs, good luck!
  17. Just wait a couple days and the Memorial Day sales will begin.
  18. I'm also looking at putting a couple high end combos together. I'm going with the Shimano Aldebaran and a couple G. Loomis NRX rods.
  19. Texas, if you're an outdoorsman, you get year round "decent" weather.
  20. I use a flouro leader and an Alberto knot, works like a champ.
