  1. I use a pair of the orange Texas Tackle split ring pliers, piece of crap Rapala needle nose (like yours) and a cheap pair of children's scissors from Walmart for cutting braid/line. More than I'd like to carry, but that's what works for me.
  2. Like a big Alka Seltzer
  3. Sure wish they offered these in 6'8' and 7' full grip cb models
  4. Improved clinch is my go to knot, but have switched to snell on T rigs. I use a straight shank/flipping hook and I feel I stick them better this way YMMV
  5. Same here, I can barely twitch it and it will do a 360, great bait for me.
  6. For old line I use a toilet paper roll and wind the line onto it with a cordless, it fits right on the chuck. Then cut it with scissors, old hooks go in a plastic bottle into the recycle bin. If you have any old soft plastics that are still good, I'm sure there are high school fishing teams that would greatly appreciate them.
  7. I use the Improved Clinch for most mono and flouro applications, and Palomar for braid. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/Berkley-ae-knot-tying-videos-instructions-on-how-to-tie-fishing-knots.html
  8. This happens to me often, get an old spool of line, run a bolt and couple nuts through it, use your cordless drill. Get all the old line off the reel onto the old spool. When you're putting the line back on, get a piece of paper towel and soak it in KVD line conditioner or the equivalent. While reeling it in just put your line in the paper towel and put a book or something on it for weight. The line will come in very clean. I actually do this to new line, you would be surprised how dirty new line really is.
  9. Braid backing and 10lb Invisx for me.
  10. Cut it out, that may be the only way. Also I would use braid for the whole spool, instead of mono backing YMMV
  11. I just received a Metanium MGL XG, and I have to say, it's the baddest reel I've had in my hands.
  12. I have all the rods you mentioned, for bottom contact and the weight you're going to use, get the NRX 894c jwr, you're welcome.

  14. Yup since it's a composite the fast would be similar to a moderate in graphite.
  15. I use a 6 gear CI4 works great for me.
  16. BPS came out with a new line of cranking rods last year, they offer a 7'10" mag heavy rated 1-4 ounces. I use this rod for the 10xd, and it handles them just fine and they are $99 http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Crankin-Stick-Casting-Rod/product/14050107113767/
  17. Tiny torpedo, pick a color they all work.
  18. I use black, white, and natural frog, if fishing crystal clear water it may make a difference what the top looks like, but most likely it won't.
  19. Are you looking to adopt? If so, pm me thanks...
  20. I use the improved clinch and wet the heck out of the knot, slide the knot down to lure then slowly tighten.
