Braid Believer!
Recently, i discovered an awesome spot that is usually empty. For a while i was having a lot of hang up in the rocks and not being able to get my lure back. But when i went to my local Bass Pro, a guy that works in the fishing department told me to go with braid because he fishes the same spot with braid and never has had a break off. Well he pointed me towards power pro and i felt that it couldn't hurt to try. Braid is a beautiful thing. I would usually get a break off in these heavy rocks. But the other day when i was fishing some tubes, i got hung up really bad. After 5 or 6 minutes of trying to get my tube back i almost cut the line. But i remember what the guy said and i continued to attempt to get my tube back. After a few more minutes i was finally able to get it back. The line and knot were in perfect shape but the tube jig hook was bent to all hell. I would have had a breakoff with any other line but braid has me conviced. Power pro 30 pound is a gift from the gods. It's sensitive too!

Texas Rig?
Well tomorrow i'll be fishing a small lake behind a few hotels that is secretely known for decent sized bass. So the first thing i'm going to throw will probably be a texas rigged craw or worm. Not too sure yet.

Texas Rig?
All the threads and posts I've seen about the Texas rig talk about fishing it in grass, weeds, and flats. I fish drop offs and rocky areas that usually end up getting snagged in without braid. So can I still use the Texas rig in heavy rocks?

The Time Has Come... Kayak Shopping!!
Hey guys! I've finally came to the conclusion that I want a kayak. But my only problem is which one. A really big dilemma is SOT Or sit in style. Reasoning. 1. I'll be fishing small lakes and river. And I'll also be fishing a bay of Lake Michigan. 2. One area that I'll be fishing has cottonmouth snakes that like to chill in the water and also follow the fish as it's reeled in. Pretty dang scary. 3. I'm not sure which would be the best to get. My main options are the D10 series from basspro. That's including the sit on top model. But I'm willing to spend up to $500. Keep in mind I'm 17 so I can't afford an $1000 yak. And my local craigslist is useless without driving 6 hours. SO. If everybody can throw in their .2 cents that would be great. I just need to see which would be more appropriate. Thanks guys!

Getting Back Into Fishing!
So I'm getting back into fishing after a few years. And I'm not sure what to even use this time of the year. It's been a while. What is the best bait you have used for smallies in rocky, cold water. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
