Just curious. Is there a link to sponsors, or are they just any one under the links tab? I don't see any specific link to site sponsors.

How many rods and reels have you lost in the lake?
I never have, but almost 55 years ago, my father, who was crippled, accidentally kicked his prized Pflueger Nobby and Conolon rod over the side of the boat while on a fishing trip in Canada. About 25 years later, a couple of guys with scuba gear retrieved it while diving near the spot where he lost it. My mother and brother went back there a couple of years later, and the lady who owned the lake gave it back to my brother. Much to all our surprise, the reel still worked perfectly. The rod, while glass showed some deterioration about the guide wrappings. Otherwise, it was hard to believe it had been under water that long.

Cabelas Prodigy B/C rod Curado Reel Combo
Was browsing Cabela's and ran across a sale on a Cabela's Prodigy Rod paired with a Shimano Curado E Reel for 199.98. Does this appear to be a a decent buy? I was thinking about the 6'6" XF MH. 1 pc. rod. I know the value of the reel, but was hoping to get some opinions about the rod.Any suggestions?

OUTSTANDING. Plano customer service
I had the same experience with my flipsider 3258. I opened one side of it and accidently let it get away and it cracked the see through . Contacted Plano to inquire about buying a replacement. The girl said no problem, shipped a new one at absolutely no charge whatsoever. So then I clumsily knocked the handle off my brothers Flambeau box. Called HQ and got the same reception. New handle no questions, no charge. Two totally class acts in my humble opinion.

Abu-garcia 4600CL-3 reassembly problem
Thanks for the tip.I had tried that and was able to get the spool assembly back in place but can't get the cranking mechanism to engage nor the spool to turn freely. I'm doing something wrong and have one heck of a time trying to straighten it out, particularly with one good arm,and the other available more or less just as a brace. Thanks again

Abu-garcia 4600CL-3 reassembly problem
I have an Abu-Garcia 4600 CL3, which I've had a couple of years, and decided it was probably time to give the ol girl an oil change and grease job before I get to go on my anuual trek to Canada. I took the side plate screws loose and backed the spool assembly away from the crank assembly as careful as possible. Now, I'm ready to put the thing back together, and am having a kinda tough time getting everything to line up just right.I had a couple of strokes a few years back, and am pretty spastic. I don't want to force the darned thing and ruin something. Any hints at easiest way to get everything aligned would certainly be appreciated.

Glen Evans Shyster
What a coincidence I was just thinking of the Shyster a couple of days ago. Being 66 I remember it well. Down in SE Ohio, We used a lot of em. That 75 cents was kinda hard to come by. Patiicularl when you were only making 50 cents an hour. The thing that used to really bug me about them was the twist it used to put in the line on my Airex Spinning reel and the accompanying birdsnests. However, they were a pretty darned good bait.
