Is there such a thing as a preferred method to remedy slippery cork grip on a pistol grip baitcast rod? I have had a few strokes and have a weak grip in my casting hand and would like to restore some of the tackiness to the grip without destroying the integrity of it. I ask for a reason; a couple of years ago while fishing in a drizzle, I made a cast and my grip was relaxed just enough to where the rod flew out of my hand and is still lying in the bottom of the lake.

I've got an unused gen 1 Cumara CUC 68M that I have had laying around for some time and I'm thinkin of putting one of the Team Lews Lites on it to throw weightless senkos and flukes. Does this sound like a workable combo? Any comments welcomed.

Was browsing the web this morning and ran across a knot posted by Jim lindner that he called a Canada knot for joining fluoro to braid looked pretty simple. Just wondered if anyone here had tried it and what opinions exist

I've used those cable ties with a screw hanger in the past and they work pretty good. I've got a passle of them but don't know right now where they're at. I remember this bait well but the first surface prop bait I had was the old Phillips crippled killer.Another bit of nostalgia I caught my first LM on a Heddon scissortail. About a 4 lber. Haha never caught another fish on that darned thing. Boy it sure was pretty with the glitter sprinkled on the top coat.Brought all of 20 cents at my fathers estate auction about 25 years ago

I've ordered several parts myself. Usual charge has always been $3.00;However on a couple of occasions, the tech has thrown in a part or two at no charge. For one little piece you might get lucky and get a freebie.

Anyone had any experience with this line? Thinking of giving it a try on a chronarch 51mg.

Take a look at the symetre 3000 fj schematic. I think it's the oscillator shaft retainer on the bottom side of the reel. It does hold that shaft in place so it doesn't slide out the back of the reel and fall on the ground. I think it's pn 8988 it will only go on one way, and if its wrong the shaft will slide right out of the reel. That screw does hold it in place. It was a trial and error(mostly error and frustration till I figured it out) but that is what I finally arrived at, and t finally worked.Good luck

Thinking of springing for a new spinning reel. Trying to decide between the supreme xt, the patriarch, or the Ci4. Is there any distinct advantage of buying the Shimano rather than one of the Pfluegers? It looks like the Supreme xt might be a good choice for the money. Opinions?

I have used the 3M Heat shrink tube installed over the r bend to get a more permanent fix as opposed to the poly tube solution I picked some up at Wally world a few years back for a few bucks. Reels: 1.About 20years ago Thought I'd give bait casters a try as I had used mostly Quick Microlites for years. The only B/C reel I had used prior was an old Pflueger Nobby of my dads spooled with the old black braided nylon line. I had many memories of picking backlashes.Then alas I saw an ad in the local paper with a sale and rebate on the new Abu Garcia 5600AB I thought why not give it a try. Then after using it a few times,I thought why in the hades did I waste my dough on this POS. Wouldn't cast out of my shadow. Sold it quick after 1 year of frustration. 2. Another harrowing experience with a reel was with a Shimano Spirex spinning reel. Couldn't get half a days fishing from it, the line twisted so bad even after KVD treatment.
