  1. Well better luck next time! If you were getting hung up on trees out of the water maybe practicing the casting would be a good so next time you hit the water that doesnt happen. I put on new fluro on one of my spinning reels and I bout lost an entire pack of worms to bad casing all over the course of the day.
  2. I probably would not go to that specific one but I would spend them online. I luckily live close to two different ones if that ever happened.
  3. Drive-ins. I really want to go to one
  4. Smallest I have ever thrown would either be a mice tail on a little jig that I was going for a about 4 inch long large mouth that I had a personal vendetta with. But beside that, it would be a small rooster tail. Largest ive thrown was a 12 inch worm with a square tail.
  5. Good luck with that new spot! I always love when I move and see all the new fishing spots that I find.
  6. White spinner bait here. Usually fished slow but ive caught some on faster paced retrievals.
  7. Feeling like a child again is great! And I love when fishing for smallies and when they jump out of the water. Such a beautiful sight before you reel em in!
  8. Nice!! and with catching a hog that size she certainly will want to keep on fishing!
  9. My top baits are watermelon 3/8s jig, and a watermelon gold flake senko wacky rigged. If you have those two then your set for a day on the river
  10. Nice!! I cant wait to see the pics posted! And having the biggest fish out of that pond that the guys seen is an accomplishment too, Good job!
  11. Follow everything that DVT said and I can not stress enough of practicing before you get on the water. You should be able to hit targets medium distance away accurately and not backlash almost at all before you hit the water, because trust me. Nothing sucks more then getting to the water and birdsnesting the reel so badly that you cannot fix it right there.
  12. I personally use the pad of my thumb but its all about preference
  13. Dang!Now thats a fish right there!
  14. That is definitely weird! He probably was just like "Dang, another one of these?Well jokes on him I wont put up a fight!"
  15. Looks like a great bait! And it obviously works too! What did you end up using for the blade?
  16. You should be fine with either setup, that being said the only difference I think would be the type of pole that was on each. I would personally use the baitcaster with the mono though.
  17. If I am new to the area then I will use a jig so I can feel the bottom and know whats out there, if not then I will use a spin/buzz bait
  18. I throw anything dark. Mainly black and blues with whatever trailer i feel like throwing and I make sure to scent up the trailer too
  19. I cant wait till the day that I catch a fish like that on a jig!Good job with that one!

Do you use any other frogs or things for lily pads? There are alot at some of the places I go to and looking for some types of baits to throw in those
  21. Hey guys, New member here from Virginia. I fish mainly the Shenandoah/Rappahannock Rivers and Motts Run. I also do a fair amount of fishing in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area but no specific places, just kinda all over. Weather permitting I wade around in the rivers but when cold ill bank fish, and I mainly bass fish but I occasionally will go for the bluegill shad or sunfish. Only been fishing for about 2 years now and love it. I am strongest with jigs and am currently trying to get my confidence up with senkos wacky rigged. Havent been able to really get out there this year and everyone close to Virginia knows with all the rain how high the rivers are right now which doesnt help.
  22. Nice! If this is one of your first trips of the year/summer I can see your year/season is off to a great start! Now I just gotta find those closer to me. Whered you catch it?
  23. I personally dont think that there is a specific "your dominate hand should do this", What ever is more comfortable and what has the muscle memory of doing that particular action is what should be doing that action. I cant for the life of me reel in left handed and if I did, it would probably take a year or so to get fully used to just the reeling action.
  24. Stafford or Norfolk depending on the part of the year. Mainly fish the Rapp and Motts in Spotsy. For Norfolk its all over the place, have not nailed down a good place to go yet.
