phenix x11 or x13 is a sick rod for bigger cranks. a x10 or x12 is better for smaller ones

i use braid for fishing in heavy cover, so if i get my fish stuck i can just drag him right out. although i generally only use like 30 pound braid.

sounds good but id go with a shimano core or chronarch much better than lews reels

i just found some crankbaits when i went to lopez a river2sea a rapala a few normans and a strike king.. not bad for free. just cleaned em up and they look almost brand new!! also i found a bunch of random anchors down at the dam. like 12 one is 100 bucks new.. not a bad trip at all!

Too bad on casitas. They seemed pretty unhelpful and stuff that I don't want to say on the forum that I'd like to say about them. Jerk bait for halibut??! That sounds fun!! Hope you can make it up there cuze I got a 5 pounder on a lc pointer and some really nice smallies on topwaters!! Also the dropshot and gitizts worked well for us.

the water a lake lopez ca was 60 to 62 this weekend. i tossed topwaters and had good luck. you can see my report on the fishing reports
