Took a fishing trip in the mountains (pics)
Oh yeah...when we camp up on Summit Lake Campground the bears are bad. Fortunately, I think they trapped some out of the campground itself. I did hear reports from a man who camped later this past summer and he said they are back though. :-? >

It is downstream, just below it. I don't have a good pic or I'd show you. I've never been back into the Cranberry before, I hear it is excellent fishing there.

Cool animals, guys! Dog on the left is Lilly, and dog on the right is Daisy (parents named them, not me). If I had my way, it would be blacky and brownie ;D I also have two medium fish tanks and one beta tank.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Burley, I didn't know you used to fish out behind there! It is the spot behind the post office. I've caught trout in that spot long after they quit stocking, in the middle of July once! They love that spot, and I like it too. Haven't ever fished the rail bridge, sounds like a good place. I know the bridge in front of your grandparents old house used to be the main bridge before they built the new one, but what about the other bridge below that one? We asked around and no one knows about it, it must have been made in the early 40s.

Yep, and that made the fishing super tough for us bait fisherman. Of course, I did break out the jigs and spinners, but even that didn't seem to produce as well. I did draw some short strikes, and of course, the brown in the above pic. I did see a fly fisherman catch several on that stretch.

Took a fishing trip in the mountains (pics)
Hello to all! I went up in the mountains with my grandpa to do a little spring trout fishing in the Cherry River. It is a medium sized stream boasting a reputation for some good trouting. The river was a lot lower than I expected, and very clear. The fish were very skittish, but I did manage to catch one brown trout. It was a stocker, and since I didn't want to keep just one fish, I let some other guys take it home with their catch. Here are some pictures from the trip. Pictures of the river. As mentioned, it was low and clear. Only trout of the trip! The Four Seasons Lodge (http://www.fourseasonslodgewv.com/) where we stayed. Overall, it was a great trip, and for anyone who does trout fishing in the mountains of West Virginia, I recommend the place we stayed. Great guy who owns it, and gives some tips for fishing, as well as some of the honey holes. -TF

Thanks for the help, guys. Just got back. The river was a lot lower than I expected, and very clear. The fish were very skittish, but I did manage to catch one brown trout. It was a stocker, and since I didn't want to keep just one fish, I let some other guys take it home with their catch. Again, I appreciate all the help, and here are some pictures from the trip. As you can see, it was much lower than the previous pictures. Only trout of the trip! The Four Seasons Lodge (http://www.fourseasonslodgewv.com/) where we stayed. I like this place, and recommend it to someone who likes to trout fish in Richwood.

Taking A Trout Trip...Tips Needed!
Here's the situation. I am taking a trout trip into the mountains with my grandpa. Currently, the weather people are calling for upper 50s, lower 60s here, and it is usually about 7 degrees cooler there. However, it is supposed to be sunny, so I believe that will warm things up. I called for stream conditions, and they said the water is clear and slightly low. Here are some pics of the area when the water was a little high. This body of water is called the Cherry River. We usually do good with salmon eggs, corn, powerbait, and the usual array of small trout lures. I was mainly wondering if you guys had any last minute tips or suggestions for fishing this area. Thanks! TF
