Best spinning Reel under 100 ?
Now I'm tempted to buy an Omega Pro spincast thanks to this thread. I just want to see how far they've come from the old 33's.

In A Pickle
Just got back from the hospital. He's looking better and getting his voice back, but he's still in a lot of pain. He was talking about westerns most of the time and trying to hint that I should hook up with a nurse. Lol

In A Pickle
So, this is going to be a sad and soppy post, but I'm trying to hide my emotions from those around me. My grandfather (Pop) has cancer in his kidney and neck. I'm not sure how long he has left, and to be honest, I'm nowhere near ready to say goodbye. He's my best friend. He's always talked about the Mini-14 he got rid of and how he's regretted selling it. I made a promise to myself that I would one day buy him another. The problem is, I don't even know he'll ever be able to shoot it, but I want him to have the rifle anyways, but also, I need to save up for a bike so I can get a job and start helping with paying for things like bills and food and such so that it's a little weight lifted off everyone's shoulders during this. I could get the job and save up for the rifle, but like I said, I'm not sure how long does has left. It's a really aggressive form of cancer and they told him it's time to start writing his will. He also won't be doing treatments. Just lost on what to do and emotionally drained.

Favorite Monafilament Line ?
Big Game is pretty much all I've used since I've been fishing. I've tried braid and fluorocarbon, but the price to performance ratio is too good for me to justify buying anything else.

Skills and Strengths?
T-rig for me, and fishing rocks. I combine the two and UI can usually kill it. Then again, that could be because where I fish rocks is where they release all the bass after tourneys.

scent
I use JJ's Magic, but quite honestly, I don't notice a difference in catch percentage.

Show off your Stuff
I'll try to get better pictures later. Just picked the setup up today. *** *** reel (accidentally got left handed, but I've been wanting to make the transition anyway) on a Cabela's ProGuide(?) 7' medium rod.

The Old Debate
Good for them, guess I'm exempt since I never claimed to be an expert.

The Old Debate
Brace yourselves, this one may be a rollercoaster. AR vs AK. This has been debated for decades annd now I'm going to take a swing at it. SHTF: In a SHTF survival situation, the AK has my vote. Most engagements will probably happen within 400m, which is plenty suitable for the AK. Anything further than that and I'd prefer to evade with just about any weapons system. Bear in mind, in a SHTF situation you may not have the oppurtinity to do weapon maintanence for weeks. Military/Contractor use: Even in this situation, I'd choose the AK (if I could). Reasons are basically the same as above. Target/plinking: Obviously, the AK is still a wonderful choice due to cost of ammunition, but if you're going to be reaching out 800+m, the AR definitely has the upper hand. Keep in mind I'm talking about a AR-10 for this particular section. These are not biased opinions. These are opinions I have formed after basically driving myself insane trying to boil it down to the better tool for each purpose. I enjoy both rifles and would love to own both. I didn't bring up reliability because I firmly beleive that both weapon systems will most likely not fail you, even in the most extreme environments. If there are any questions, feel free to ask. I will discuss caliber preferences and such, and try to go into more detail if needed. I didn't go into as much detail as I would've liked due to being tired of typing on a tiny keyboard.

Been Gone A While
I haven't been on here in a long time because I got out of fishing last summer. May get back into it in a year or two, but for the time being I've just completely lost interest. On the flip side, I have discovered something else that is going to be taking a lot of my money. It has actually been a hobby of mine since I was about five, but I'm now getting pretty big into it. The hobby is...knives, hatchets, axes, etc. Looking at treating myself to a Wetterlings hatchet this Christmas. I've been teaching myself how to sharpen blades and I'm really getting into wood working, which is another hobby I'm really getting into but I'm not good at. Trying to learn to make spoons, bowls, hatchet handles, knife scales, etc. Just checking in to let you guys know I'm still alive. Have a few friends here.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Got a H2O jerkbait and some Z-Man Elaztech craws to try out. Never fished craws, and only tried a jerkbait once.

How To Fish This?[Bank Fisherman]
I'd have to say a frog. I hate fishing frogs because I can't get the technique down and I never get bites, but that's too weedy for me to mess with.

Keeping Accessories Organized In Your Kayak
Mine is a sit in. I just keep my clippers, pliers, and scissors on the left side so they're easily accessible, but not in the way.

Guess I'm Not A Fisherman...
Conditions are normally lower to mid 80's since I either go early in the morning or late in the evening. Depth in the spot I fish most often ranges from about 3-8ft if I had to guess. Been using mainly T-rigged soft plastics and the newest edition to the family, Keitech 4.8" baby bass swimbaits on a Revenge 3/8oz swimbait jighead.

Guess I'm Not A Fisherman...
I've been fishing for over a month with my kayak and have only caught one bass. I've tried different baits, different locations, different techniques, etc. I've been casting at places that I'd believe would be bass haven, but nothing. Guess I'm just not really a fisherman. Doesn't bother me though. Still enjoy it, even if I never catch anything. It would be nice to get a few nice bass though...

Is It As Big Of A Difference?
May have to go pick up a Pflueger Trion. I've been looking at them because they're so cheap and I've heard such good things about them. They look pretty sweet. Handle looks nice, which is a big thing for me. This Okuma seems like it has about had it. My friend told me I could have it yesterday, but it's sounding real rough so I'd like to get another reel before it goes out, which points to the Trion because of affordability.

Trilene Big Game
Works fine. Isn't the best at anything, but it's decent at everything. If you backlash and don't feel like digging it out, the line is cheap enough that you'd be ok with just respooling.

Guys, this page may be pretty overrun with new tackle I've bought this fall. We're getting a Cabela's on September 30th. Oh boy...

Bait Quality ?
Actually, I got a kayak not long ago. Just really don't wanna lose a bait I spent that much on. Lol I bought it to fish, but I lose baits more often than I care to admit.

Bait Quality ?
I've caught my biggest bass on the $1 spinnerbaits. They're cheap, so it doesn't bother me if I lose them, and they seem to run fine for me. As long as it catches fish, I don't care if it only costs a penny. I do splurge sometimes and get Lucky Craft or War Eagle or something, but I generally stick to the cheap stuff since I tend to not use the more expensive baits I buy in fear of losing them. I bought a Lucky Craft squarebill and I've only used it a couple of times because I'm scared of losing it. If you can afford high end baits, go for it, if not, the bargain bin works just fine.

Fish Slime
I don't see it as a big deal. Sometimes the fish will jump off the hook landing on the ground and I have to pick them up and put them back in the water. I never see dead bass down there. I saw a dead bream yesterday, but I haven't fished for bream there for a long time. I see dead catfish there every so often, but I'm not allowed to fish for them, so that isn't because of me.

Is It As Big Of A Difference?
I'm not really good with it, still learning, but I'm getting the hang of it. Lol I was just curious because I was amazed at the difference between the Accurist and Tatula, so I was just wondering if it was as much of a jump. Guess I'll have to pick one up eventually.
