  1. Ok, so after getting my first higher end BC (Tatula), I was thinking about trying out a higher end spinning reel. With the BC, the highest quality one I had tried before the Tatula was my Accurist, and there was a huge difference. I was just wondering if there is as big of a jump with spinning reels. The highest quality spinning reel I've used is about a $40 Okuma. How would that stack up to, say...a Pflueger Supreme MGX?
  2. I still cast into trees. Not so much with a BC, but since I'm still kinda new to spinning reels and not used to the release times, I tend to catch a lot of tree bass with them.
  3. Both. I enjoy being alone sometimes, but other times I like having a friend to talk to, crack jokes with, and catch fish with.
  4. I'd have to disagree. I find mine very uncomfortable, but wear it every time I go out on the water.
  5. I'm going to be buying a few more. Definitely a great reel. Love the look and it's a nice reel. The weight and size doesn't bother me.
  6. The yak as it sits. Still would like to add a couple of things, but got the major things I want done.
  7. Didn't thing to get any pics, but I got a few things for the Barbie fishing tourney tomorrow. A small buzzbait in black, a ZMan Chatterbait, a pack of junebug colored Zoom lizards, some 1/0 Lazer Sharp wide gap hooks, and another can of Real Magic (not for the tourney).
  8. I'm not the biggest fan of Abu, but that is one of the most amazing looking reels I've ever seen. Where do you buy those JDM reels at? I may have to get one. How much does the shipping cost as well? I'll probably have to find a blacked out reel or black and purple to suit my style.
  9. I would say docks, but haven't fished docks at all this year, so I'll say timber with a jig/soft plastic.
  10. Thought it was illegal to hunt with anything under a 6mm?
  11. I like the look of EVA more, as far as feel, I've never handled a cork rod. The ones I've handled were all wrapped in plastic. Still do love the look of cork though.
  12. So you're assuming that just because that is your personal preference that it's the best? I've seen a lot of problems with Remington's lately, so saying that it would be the "right" rifle just because of the brand name would make me believe the child has more sense than you. There is no "best," it is all personal preference. As of all the reels I've used, my personal favorite brand is Daiwa. My personal favorite .22LR is the S&W M&P15-22. Just because that is your preferred brand, doesn't make it "right" for someone else.
  13. Before I actually seen the bike I thought it was fake. I had only seen pics from above and thought he was just using a paddle tire, and, though you can hydroplane for a decent distance with just that, you can't ride more than a few hundred feet. Pretty awesome, especially when you think how easy it is to wash out on land.
  14. I was referring to wiping down the exterior of the reel. When I decide to get it serviced it will be taken to a professional. I'm just asking about for the body of the reel, what would be good to use for keeping it clean and making it look new for a longer period of time.
  15. The only problem with the L&L is that no one sells it local. I've looked everywhere. Every store that sells fishing tackle, I've looked at. I just found my first jar of JJ's Magic to try yesterday.
  16. I've never replaced the trebles. I tend to have bad luck with hooks so I don't feel like having to yank them out of a finger anymore than I have to.
  17. I've been using Real Magic to wipe down the exterior of my reel to keep it clean (spraying it into a shop rag and wiping the reel down). I just wanted to make sure that was ok or if there is something else I need to use instead.
  18. What is the layout of the pond? Depth? Is it weedy or clean bottom?
  19. I'm actually the opposite. If I don't fish I lose interest, the more I fish, the more I wanna be out on the water fishing.
  20. The Shimano Caenen seems ok from the little I've used it.
  21. Agreed. Obviously you won't be that limited, but it's just seeing what other people would choose.
  22. I basically limit myself to soft plastics anyway and the only combo I have is a casting combo, so I guess I'm good.
