Hey! I also fish at Puddingstone Reservoir frequently. Try Sailboat Cove. There's plenty of cover there and I get many topwater bites at night. The fish here are very finicky. One day they might go for topwater, the next day they won't. Like you, I've skunked majority of my time here (at night), but don't give up.

Depends on the type of bait I'm using. If I'm using top water or jerkbait, I'll cast in every direction twice then move on. If I'm using soft plastic finesse bait, I'll sit there for a good 30 minutes or so.

Okay guys, I'm really confused. I've been trying to discover what kind of hooks are used for drop shotting. Gamakatsu calls them Drop shot/split shot hooks (which is straightforward), Owner calls them Mosquito hooks, and Lazer calls them Drop shot Octopus hooks. Some say that they are generically called octopus hooks but brands like to put their own label on them. The true identification of the name of the hook used for drop shot is obscure to me and I would be thankful if you guys would help me out here.

Honestly, I go there to see what the hot items are and later order them online for a lesser price. Majority of the items there are overpriced. I'll buy couple Sabikis or sale items from time to time.

Totally agree. As long as you catch fish, then your combo suffices. You don't need expensive gear to catch fish. One thing to keep in mind is to stay healthy. When fishing for long hours, sometimes the hand can't take it anymore or headaches start emerging. Be aware of your body conditions as you fish. Other than that, your plan looks great! Hey man, and welcome to the site. I've had the same exact issue (using almost every bait and still coming up empty) and came to the conclusion that there is no fish at the lake I was fishing at. Once I moved over to a different lake, I caught my first bass. Try drop shotting with a Roboworm. It worked pretty well for me last time I went fishing.

This happens a lot especially around those who do not fish. I think the reason why peers think anything they perceive as skeptical as Photoshopped is that so many pictures online are Photoshopped these days that it makes it difficult to discern what is Photoshopped from what is legitimate. Like you, Glenn, it bugs me whenever someone questions the validity of my catch. Such comments discredits my accomplishments. I agree, they should take their false accusations elsewhere.
