Deeper Running 3Xd?
You could try a softer rod and 20 or 30 lb braid. I dont care much for braid because i like graphite rods with a faster action but it works ok on a softer glass rod

Buzzbait...plastic Trailer...stinger Hook???
If you are using the entire toad and not shortened, there is probably enough plastic toad sticking past the bend of the hook to use a treble hook instead of a regular trailer hook. I use a treble trailer hook with a piece of surgical tubing over the eye. Rig your toad or other plastic on the buzzbait first. Then put the treble on and bury one point in the plastic trailer. Now you have two hook points pointing up to hook a fish instead of just one

Anyone Tried This Reel Before
Pfleuger reels have smaller spools than shimano/daiwa if you are more used to their sizes, its a good thing to keep in mind when buying. The 25 size pfleuger holds about 100 yds of 4 lb test, while most daiwa/ shimano 2500's hold at least 120 yards of 8 lb. Thats almost twice the spool capacity of the pfleuger. You would have to buy a 35 size pfleuger to get the closest in spool size to the 2500 daiwa. A larger spinning reel spool will give less line management problems and in my experience, much longer casts. The drawback is weight and size of the reel. For an all around reel from shimano/daiwa and most other makers id pick a 2500 or 3000 size for a do it all reel. If i was looking at pfleuger id be looking at the 35 size because of line capacity.

$99 Rod Dobyns Fury, 13 Omen, Or Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0
Id pick the *** out of the three. I cant speak on the dobyns because ive never even held one, but i had a mh casting in the *** and veritas lines. Both are sensitive but the *** was just a little better. Also the abu felt more like a heavy action than its mh label. If you do decide on the veritas, id definitely reccomend holding it if possible so you can get a feel for it. A medium power veritas will fish more like a mh and load up and cast with a bigger variety of baits

Shimano Rod/reel Combo
There are a multitude of 2 piece rods to choose from. What is your budget? What species are you fishing for, what weights and type lures do you mostly throw. More info will definitely help everyone with what they would reccomend

Which Spinning Rod Fits These Specs?
Id look at st croix. Their mh spinning will definitely handle 3/4 oz. So will abu garcia 7 ft mh spinning in any model. If you could deal with an inch shorter rod (6'7") there is a mh fenwick aetos spinning for 105 on sale right now

Looking To Get My First High End Baitcasting Rod.
If i had 300 ti spend id look at megabass, kistler helium 3, used g loomis glx/nrx, or st croix legend elite. You can probably get a very nice custom made on a st croix blank for that price and choose your own handle and guides. I plan on having dvt do one and he quoted me a very good price on a st croix build.

Rage Toad Setup And Hook
If you only use them topwater, you are missing out. I have a friend that uses them with a weighted hook and lets them sink then crawls them slow on the bottom. I laughed at first until he caught 3 bass over 6 lbs in one trip from a pond ive never caught one over 6 from

Crayfish Colors
Our craws around here are green or brown with orange claws. I usually buy green pumpkin and use orange dye on the claws. If the water is muddy though black and blue produces best for me, even though ive never seen a craw that color around here

Better Wide Gap Fluke Hook
You might try using the regular wire hooks instead of the superline version. My favorite is the owner riggin hoog or gammy ewg

Shimano Vs Abu Garcia Rods
I dont know of anyone that raves about a 1 year non over the counter warranty which is what shimano is now. I havent had 2 piece rods of either model but ive owned a 7ft mh vendetta 1 piece casting rod and a 7 ft 2 in mh clarus with split eva handles. I personally didnt care for either. The clarus wasnt very sensitive for an im8 rod, and the vendetta was way heavier than a mh. I like a stiff rod for some things, but not to the point where i need a 5/8 oz jig plus trailer to load the rod enough to get a long cast. If i had to pick one of the 2 it would probably be the vendetta, id just get a rod one power lighter than what i wanted. If you dont mind 2 piece rods you can get way better rods than either of these for the same money or less

I Lol'd When I Saw River 2 Sea Release A "rattle Trap" That Costs $12
All lures have their time and place. I love my high dollar lures, but ive also had days when i caught 3 times as many bass on 6 dollar bomber long a than i did on a 15 dollar pointer. As far as if the bait is worth 12 dollars, i personally wouldnt give that, bit i lose lipless baits like crazy because i usually fish them on bottom around cover. Amd if it had megabass wrote on the top, it would probably go for at least twice that

Lightweight Spinning Reels
I prefer the larger reels because i seem to get better casts and less tangles with a larger spool. Id reccomend trying some reels out on your rod to see how they feel and balance the rod. My lews team gold made a 7ft rid feel very tip heavy, but balanced out a 6'3" rod perfect. Also id reccomend shopping around and also maybe looking at used gear also. I gave 80 bucks for the team gold off another forum and it looked brand new. You can find really good deals if you take time to look

Lews Spinning Reel Opinions
I had the tournament hs spin and the team gold. I really liked both and thought they were excellent reels for the money. I had to sell because i lost my job but ill be saving for more

-
Is The Cabela's Verano The Same Reel As An Okuma Helios?
It is the same reel as the helios and the newest prodigy spinning reel is a rebadged okuma rtx. Most all of cabelas reels other than these are daiwa. Almost all of their reels have magforce and almist all spinning reels have daiwa trademarks like the hardbody frame

Reel To Go With Crankin Stick
Its hard to throw 1/16 on any baitcasting reel, especially a stock one available new, unless you want to spend a little more money. The *** reels have pretty shallow spools but i dont think they can handle that light of weight. Even the 50 size shimanos and high end daiwas have a hard time doing it stock. Id say your best bet is try for maybe 1/8oz and see if you can find a gently use. Shimano 50e or a daiwa reel that can accept sv or rcs spools. Then you can use it now and save a little and get some bfs bearings and a tuning spool and throw the weights you want.
