So I almost exclusively fish from a tube and can take 2 rods. I have a 5 and a half medium ugly stick gx2 with 12 lb mono and a 6 and a half abu garcia black combo with 50 lb braid that I put different fluorocarbon leaders on. My question is what would you guys change with this setup. My gx2 is a bass catcher don't laugh! I'm surgical with all my equipment.

Well for starters how do you know your pond has a big un. Some ponds dont. Learn to read cover. Good cover can be overhanging branches, weeds, and fallen trees. Learn all you can about where bass go and what time and why. The Hunt for her never ends my friend. You just get good at hunting.

But I have to agree with Scott. Sometimes 3 hours of nothing gets boring. I had a buddy that used to down scale and start catching bluegill when the bite was off.

My mind changed when I caught an eleven pounder. Totally different experience! I'm adicted. I hunt big fish. I want 8 lb plus bass and I fish accordingly. If I catch small fish I'm in the wrong spot.

Agreed I fish from a float tube and caught a 11 pounder last week from it. Every thing is harder for us. Hookset and the fight is intense fighting a big fish from water level.

I just started fishing a new spot and the cover is totally new to me. I don't know what they are called but the weeds are emergent and have tall green stalks maybe cat tails. Also there are a lot of trees that have several feet of water beneath them. What lures would you guys use here. I'll work on pics soon. The clumps of these weeds are 50 ft square and scattered through out
