  1. I just caught a 25 inch bass in my pond off a Texas rigged 4 inch zoom finesse worm. I was on a float tube!
  2. Does your lake have any structure? Sometimes folks pay to much attention to cover without relating it to structure. Every time I fish a new lake or the bite changes on my own waters I search the prime structure with the best cover. Large bass usually find the best of both. An example would be a submerged hump with a deep weeding separating the hump from deep water... structure and cover. The bass are there hunt them down.

Unreal day! My first fish over 5 lbs. Big bass are definitely different she fought for a little bit. I thought something else was on the end of my line! Still jacked on adrenaline.

Just got back fishing at the wildlife ponds and caught my personal best. 11.15 lbs. What a fight this fish gave me. Days like this and fish like her are why I bass fish. Caught her on 12lb mono and a Texas rigged zoom finesse worm on a owner shakey head.
  6. Lol you think bank fishing is a challenge. I fish from a float tube. Same concept as you guys. The trick is already knowing what you need for your water. I know to take shakey heads and t rigs. So maybe a couple colors and sizes of worms and some terminal t and I'm set.
  7. What's up star craft. Let's go fishing.
  8. I use owner ultra head 1/8. Love the cps.
  9. I don't pre rig but I don't fish tournaments either. I feel that it takes very little time to tie everything. As far as plastics go it takes less than a minute to Texas rig. I also re tie my knots often.
  10. How do you guys know how much backing to use
  11. Good to know. I'll stick with the double uni and a dot of crazy glue. Thanks guys
  12. So I'd like to have my worm rod filled with fluorocarbon but have like a 70 yard cheap mono backing. I've been thinking the double uni will work. I will be using about the same weight line. What would you guys do? Please no info on leader knots as that is no what I am doing. So in your response please remember some knots require the leader end to be passed back through the knot which would be unrealistic for my application. Thanks guys.
  13. Oh man that is bad...
  14. Every pond has at least one prime area where structure and cover are at a premium. The trick most of the time is finding the best micro habitat for bass that the pond has to offer. For lures I am usually most successful with natural colored plastics of different types. Hunt the fish. Big bass are smart. Some deer hunters just randomly hang out in the woods and sometimes they get lucky. But a true hunter studies his prey. What are its favorite foods where does it go throughout the day.... why. I love hunting big fish and to be even a little consistent you have to understand what an adult bass needs. The more you can understand your prey the more likely you are to catch him. Or you might get lucky!
  15. Wow crazy out here in California we are in a drought.
  16. Swing impact fats are awesome. I use em in the summer heck I'm using em right Now! As for the durability. .. it's true they fall apart but I don't care because they catch fish. I use them as trailers, t rigged or recently 9 a shakey head. Also the regular swing impact 4 inches are like 4 or 5 bucks for 8. They work well too.
  17. Agree with plastics. Sometimes the least noisy baits are best in ponds. I use t rigged worms, senkos and small swim baits like 4 inch swing impact.
  18. I can't remember the last time I Fished for more than 4 hours without catching something.
  19. How do I make a profile picture
  20. I too fish primarily ponds on a float tube. The key for me is understanding bigger bass. In pre spawn, spawn and post spawn bigger bass are easily located along the shore line weeds and flats 10 to 30 ft away from the bank. Then after it heats up you have to find were they go. My bass find better structure and cover. I look for the best cover and or structure in the pond. If there are forage fish around that cover I'm gonna work that spot pretty well. Some times smaller bass are caught on one lure like for me an unweighted natural color senko 5 inch. And bigger bass on a shakey head or texas rigged ribbon tail. Ponds can be weird I have caught 6 pound bass by down scaling to a 4 Inch finesse worm. Don't be a bank beater get a float tube or small boat and find the best structure or cover because bigger bass take the prime spots.
  21. I agree with that. I caught a 44 inch sturgeon this year and that is a different fight than a bass. You actually get tired bringing in a fish like that!
  22. Great I have some GY hula grubs I'll look into the jig heads. Thanks
  23. I'm a relatively hard core bass hunter fishing 4 days plus a week. I need more weapons lol
