  1. Have a buddy that caught a 7.8 at lake of the ozarks December 18th last year on a black omega buzz. Can catch them in it but you won't catch me throwing it. Just feel there are better tactics.
  2. What till you have one that sounds like dropping a brick in the water!
  3. Any bogo sell would be great
  4. I've seen several people stop a retrieve when the feel a fish swipe at cranks and the fish eat it. Only difference is you see every miss with a top water, and don't with a crank.
  5. And I second the hint about the possible asset raise! GL
  6. Feeling a LOCKDOWN coming. Lol
  7. I've yet to set the hook too hard on top water. Get some vmc trailer hooks. Also, as soon as they miss I make a few more cranks to make sure he doesn't follow it and out goes a senko. If I'm throwing top water, a senko is within arms reach and ready to roll.
  8. As is yours. Cursive can be a beautiful writing, but more time than not it's used as a fast, hurry up and get through this script that often is half print, half cursive, all slop.
  9. You read more into what I wrote than I meant. I'm not saying cursive is lazy. I admitted my wife writes in cursive, dang sure didn't say she was lazy. She writes so that people can read what she writes. When you are specifically writing to others, ie: prescription, card, notes on school papers, work lists and on and on do so in manner that is legible. In your example, the boss just wasted half an hour or more in writing a cursive list, giving it to the employee, employee trying to make sense of it, him passing it to other employees to try to "problem solve" and then mustering up the courage to come back to the boss and say wth does this say!?!
  10. Hardest part for me and top water is keeping my self from a premature hook set in the shallows where you can see that middle coming!!! Keeps me coming back time and time again!!!!
  11. Heart beating, rod in hand, fish on line is mine. Weather, location, time is all details.
  12. Fish short strike. Do you have a trailer hook? Try throwing a walking bait. You can follow up missed strikes with a weightless senko.
  13. And as in the last cursive post, pure laziness. That is basically print without lifting the pen. My wife has the most legible cursive I've ever seen but she also writes to be legible to OTHERS. It's one thing to have your own style for your own notes and such, completely worthless if nobody else can read it. Disclaimer: this one was fairly easy to read due to knowing the context meaning.
  14. You look happier with the 4#er!!! Lol. Had to play it cool in front of the fishing team! great fish!
  15. Congrats on the boat motor! Sounds like a sweet find! Stinks a little about the work training but there is always Lacygne after you get back!
  16. I fish the brush hog. Watermelon red flake is my go too color. Before the brush hog my #1 was the Yum Zellamander, which they quit making. (still a little ticked over that) Their replacement was the salamander that had swim balls on its legs and tail. No where near the same amount of bites on my waters. Good luck with the knee! Hope they can get you fixed up and fishing again soon!
  17. You can do both. They each make a difference in motion. If you fish it back to the boat or bank you will want to go with the water. The closer the bait gets to you if you jerk up it won't displace much water, it will just try to pull the bait out of the water. I keep the rod at a 45 degree angle.
  18. I throw a brush hog all the time.
  19. Why it's called fishing instead of catching! Can't catch them at home with the rods in the garage though! Get back after them again soon!
  20. Frog- walk the dog (zig zag pattern) Chatterbait- I like to reel it slow just as the blade still vibrates. Buzz- can reel straight, stutter, slow roll or burn. Listen to the fish. Use a trailer hook Popper- I use a 3 pop sequence. Sometimes very soft, other times throw in big pops. Cranks- I stutter reel and bounce it off of cover. Keep tip down and feel every vibration. Good luck buddy.
  21. Now folks.... Let's not bs about it... Obviously we fish because we enjoy chasing fat girls .
  22. He now has 7 fewer hard baits. Thanks man
