  1. I was pond fishing with my Grandson a couple of weeks ago and caught the biggest bass of the year for me . I reach down to put him on the stringer with the other three bass and before I could get him strung he flopped out of my hand and back into the water he went. You win some you loose some and some say( ***)you should have had a V8 Juice.
  2. Great site. I'm on here every day except when I go fishing . I wish there was more info on the lakes west of the Tn River in West Tn. I want to thank you for putting this web site together I think its Great
  3. Greetings . I'm alot like you. I used to to catch fish back in the 80's and 90's . Sold my boat in 98. I just got back into fishing and bought another boat in Nov 2013. Now when I go to a lake it seems like all I do is practice my casting. Mabey one day practice will make perfect and a Bass will be on the end of the line. Anyway Welcome
  4. Back in the mid to late 80's I took my young son to a stocked pound that the owner said nobody had fish in several years. It was only stocked with LMB. He told me to keep as many as I wanted. ( Tn state Limit 5 per person ) and throw the rest that you catch on the bank . It was so over stocked the bass hit every thing we threw out them . The largest only weighed 3 lbs but his lenght suggested that he should have weighed 6 to 7 lbs. They were starving. You never had to make two cast with out catching one. My son and I had a blast that day. It made my day watching my son. Long Skinny Bass means over stocked and not enough food.
  5. I'm a 1-3 my skill of finding bass are terrible. My casting skills aren't to good either. The only bait I seem to be good with is T-rigged worms and spinner baits. I try alot more but its a no go for now. No matter what I still enjoy being on the water. A bad day of fishing is still a good day on the water.
  6. Any one of the Pro's that have won the Classic. On any of the lakes in West Tennessee.

  9. I got Skunked at Beech Lake in Lexington Tn last wed. Two days after that front came thru the Mid South. It was a nice day on the lake but o bass in the boat. IT WAS STILL A GOOD DAY TO put my boat in the water!!!!!!!

  11. There is nothing like a new born baby to make a man proud. congrats Popa.
  12. I knocked that Skunk right off my shoulders today. I took my 7 yr old grand son to a friends house and fished his pond that has Bream and Bass in it . It was a Bright Sunny Day about 89 degrees 10:00am . I set my grand son up with worms and crickets .He decided he wanted worms so I baited his hook and let him at it. My friend that owned the place said that his Bass has gotten smart and would not hit plastic worms any more. I told him 0k I would try something else . I tried a spinner bait for a little while and not even a nibble. I pulled out a Zoom 6 " June bug Brush hog on a T- rig and after a few cast the fun was on . So that nasty Skunk got shucked off. We had a good day . Spent good quality time with my grand son.
  13. I have Live in and around this area for 54 yrs out of my 60 yrs of life. Six yrs I was gone in the Army. Depends on how much money you want to spend on your room and if you have a boat with you. When your comming into Memphis on I-40 East of Town around exit #18 you have some nice motels. Down town On Riverside and on Main you have some Nice Hotels. Just south of Memphis on I-55 you have some nice motels in South Haven or Horn Lake Mississippi. Last about an hour away you have the Casinos on Hwy 61 . I hope This helps you. Oh yeh I allmost forgot There are some motels across from the Bass Pro Shop. If you like BBQ. Go to Blues City Cafe on Beal st. I was Born and Raised in Memphis
  14. Places to see in Memphis. Graceland, Beal st, Gibson Guitar Factory and Sun Records and last you might want to check out the Pink Palace . Keep your eyes open and watch your back.
  15. When my back quits hurting I plan on trying my luck on Beech. I know nothing about the lake so I'll be lucky to catch anything.
  16. If I want to catch fish every time I go fishing. I would go to my buddies house just down the street and fish in his pound. I go to the lakes and Rivers for the Challenge. Poor skills and old electronics make fish hard to catch. So when I catch one big or small I had a great day. If not I still had a great day
