Lews Reels - Korea vs China - Which ones are which?
Not sure if it helps at all, but IME, Korean products in general are made better than Chinese. I am also a sucker for that "Made in U.S.A." sticker.

Nothing custom or anything, but it's still a team Lew's lite on a LTB 6'8" MF. This setup is so easy to handle, and versatile to boot!

Which reel do you feel is better?
At the risk of hijacking this thread, you just need a few Les Pauls to fill out your arsenal. I'd recommend starting with a Les Paul Jr. to get your feet wet, and go from there. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk guitars, I could go on for days!

Recommendations for Heavy Jig/Flipping Rod
I'd be looking for something along the lines of 7'3"-7'6" with a med fast taper for your heavy flipping. That being said, give it a whirl with the heavy cranks and see if it works for you. Myself, even if the rod worked for both I would be using a different line and reel for each of these techniques, so I would not be using the same setup for heavy jigs and heavy cranks. If you can find a happy medium (6.x:1 speed reel and a 17lb line) that will work there, go for it!

Help Me Pair some rods w/ new reels
You can get the Lew's tournament pro g, bb1 pro, or superduty for right around 150 if you shop around. Why not 1 of each of those?

St Croix vs Cabela's Tournament ZX
I have had good luck with my 3 Cabela's brand rods. I would definitely choose the zx over the rage. The zx handle (I have the 7'5" crankshaft) suits me way better than the handle on the Rage. The rage may have better graphite, but sensitivity won't matter to me if I'm not even inclined to pick the rod up. If you can get out to a Cabela's and hold each one, I would recommend it.

The best Ned rig rod
I'm using a 6'6" ml/f st croix premier spinning rod. 10lb braid on a shimano saros 2500 with a 6 or 8lb fluoro leader. I could probably go lighter on the rod, since those shroomz heads have tiny hooks, but I leave the light power rods to handle panfishing duty and never bring them bassin

4 vs 5 inch senko
for me, it depends on the depth i am fishing. If I'm targeting bass in 3-5 feet, i'll throw the 4" because it has a slower fall (rigged weightless) than the 5". When I'm in 6-10 feet, I'll usually throw the 5" just because it gets to the bottom better, and i have a better feel with it. If the fish is hungry, she'll eat it. I've caught nice sized northerns on the smallest bass worms.

Single Colorado Blade Spinnerbait
I have a lot of success chucking and winding 1/2 oz single colorado spinnerbaits in light cover and along dropoffs. I reel em slowly but maintain visibility with the bait 90% of the time. Do that and hold on, the strikes will be violent!

'Yakers, what paddle are you using?
Glad to see there's some Shuna love going around! I did hold the BB angler pro and angler ace, and I can't deny that they're nice paddles. I was really drawn to the ferrule and blade shape on the Shuna over the BB paddles, but I can definitely understand the appeal for both these brands. Unfortunately, it's snowing again here in SE Michigan, but hopefully I'll be able to get some use out of my new motor in a few weeks.

A-rig/swimbait setup
Good evening, wonderful people! I want to try some A-rig fishing this spring, so I'll need a setup in order to do so. I was leaning towards the Cabelas Tournament ZX Swimbait rod (on sale right now for $75), but I was hoping to get some opinions regarding to a stick I may have overlooked. I had my eye also on the Crucial Swimbait rod. I have no idea how I'm going to end up rigging my A-rig fishing, so I was thinking a stick rated for 1-4oz would be a good range to look for. Regarding a reel, i have a 5.1:1 Chronarch right now, would this be a good choice for such a demanding rig, or should I be looking for a round or more heavy-duty reel for this application (Calcutta, Lew's Super duty)? I have no problem dumping 300-400 on a combo, but if i can get a good setup for cheaper, that's always good! I have read a lot of the older posts, and I realize that there is a lot of personal preference that goes into A-rig setups (even line), but I am hoping to gain a little more insight into these big sticks as well as check in to see if anyone is using a slow Chronarch for their A-rig fishing. Thanks in advance!
