  2. Booyah pad crasher black and yellow!
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Husky Jerk supposed to be a suspending bait? I threw one yesterday and the thing floated right to the top of the water very quickly. 2nd question: is this bait worth the effort to get it to suspend with either suspendots or heavier hooks? Would I be better off using these as a warm-water bait moving it fast or tweaking them to get them to suspend? I currently have 3 HJ10s and HJ12 and 2 HJ8s
  4. You need to get the word out to local scrapyards to look for the trailer. Crooks usually will steal the boat and trailer, dump the boat somewhere (in Detroit the dump site of choice is an abandoned lot) and scrap the trailer. Finding the trailer will be the best way of finding the perps. I'm not a criminal, but if it were me I would have put a stolen license plate on the trailer so it can't be found with your license plate number. Sorry to hear about your loss. It pains me to hear about people stealing from other people.
  5. I'm the proud new owner of a sea eagle fast track 385ftg. 2 trips out in the water so far, but with no fish to show for it, having a new watercraft certainly helps take the sting out of getting skunked. I'm really liking this kayak and it is very stable to the point I can stand and fish, it tracks well, and I can put it in the water pretty much anywhere. Now I just need to figure out how to find some fish and get them to bite. Gonna add a fish finder soon which hopefully will help
  6. I tried out the 14lb. There's lots out there I'd rather use
  7. We're gonna be kayaking and going off the rawsonville ramp. I'm bringing a crappie box with me too in case we get into some

  9. Sufix performance braid 50 or 65lb
  10. Dump out all your stuff and fill up 3 boxes
  11. I've been using this line but on my whole spool. It's tough stuff!
  12. The presidents have a nice low ipt especially in the 30 size and smaller that would be great for throwing cranks.
  13. Do what I did. Pick 1 weight and head style, buy a few different head colors and even more skirt colors and then assemble at home, then you don't have to decide what your jigs will look like until you have all the stuff in your hands.
  14. My dream combo would have a 10 pounder on the end of it.
  15. Ah birds and baits. I had seagull pick up a husky jerk last year. Luckily he wasn't hooked, just didn't want to let go of it until I reeled him up to 5ft from the boat.
  16. I use the 20 for crappie/perch and the 30 for bass/walleye.
  17. I think the black frog is the one, but mobody ever really talks about the skirt legs' colors. Sometimes they want 1 color in em, other times 2. Also, I have some white and orange frogs I'm gonna try out this year. Sometimes I lose sight of black or green frogs in the really thick stuff.
  18. Thanks! Most of my fishing is up on Kent Lake, but my co-worker lives downriver so we figured this lake would be a good halfway point to meet. I was able to find some decent depth maps already too.
  19. A co-worker and I will be paddling Belleville Lake in Belleville, MI this weekend. Neither of us have graphs or any charts. Has anyone here fished this lake that knows any decent spots or lake areas where we should be looking? If anyone has or knows where I can get a depth map, that would help me out a bunch too.
  20. St croix premier and pflueger president will be right around $200 and you'll have a great setup! Get a rod that can handle the weight of your favorite lures and go with a fast action
  21. There's a catch and keep category (weight) and a catch and release category (length). I believe 22" is the minimum length for entry, and they take the top 100 I believe in each category for each species
  22. That could have been a Master Angler Award fish. Shoulda measured it.
  23. I was out on Ford Lake on Saturday, I'll be on Kent soon enough though
  24. I've got a 6' medium fast casting rod for my spooks and poppers
