  1. Annexation wins first fish! I was out there on Saturday for a few hours and got skunked
  2. The booyah pad crasher is a good frog too. I have 4 types in my collection: SPRO, live target, booyah, and strike king KVD. Of those 4, the pad crashers seem to get the most playing time.
  3. Straight 6# fluoro here. I like to keep the knots to a minimum
  4. DNR posted all the changes here: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/New_Fishing_Regulations_for_2015-2016_-_additional_info_486671_7.pdf
  5. Now the question is: who here will get the first one?
  6. Can't we just pretend that we saw the change yesterday and didn't see a re-neg?
  7. I'll be out there this weekend. Probably throwing jerks, jigs, and plastic worms. Maybe some lipless and squarebills too. Gotta see what them bass want in early April now!
  8. Looks like Christmas came early this year!
  9. I haven't seen any news from today yet. I'll keep waiting and search again later.
  10. Is a vote actually happening today, or did I just get my hopes up?
  11. Well it showed up today! I'm gonna take it on its maiden voyage this weekend.
  12. I'm looking at this one too, as well as the Chirp. The HDI is less than $400 with a transducer on Amazon right now.
  13. Well, I pulled the trigger on the fast track 385ftg from sea eagle. Should show up April 9.
  14. I have both. I do prefer the look and feel of cork, but the blank is more important to me than the grip.
  15. The best $100 Rod is always going to be whichever more expensive for you can find a deal on. Awhile back I landed an older Crucial for $60. That's my best rod under $100.
  16. For cold weather you gotta start with a good base layer and wool socks. Keeping your feet warm and dry is my best advice from Michigan.
  17. I've been searching online for days trying to find more information about this possible change. There's a lot of open water here in SE Michigan and I want to get out on the water with all my bass gear. Some of my friends say to just "play dumb" but I can't in good conscience target bass when they're out of season. Closest I can do is crappie fish and pray for a bass. We really do need a year-round catch and release bass season, like was mentioned before the ice is enough to deal with. Jigging through a hole ain't quite the same as casting for me.
  18. I fish it close to the surface and vary my retrieve but always keep that blade moving. Just watch out, if there's pike around they love it!
  19. I like my st croix premiers. I've handled fenwick HMGs in stores too and they feel pretty nice too
  20. Wacky rig all day every day!
  21. Can the RAM transducer arms attach to those Scotty mounts?
  22. To me there's not going to be a lot of difference except possibly with the butt section. Pick both up and go by which one feels better. Since these are combos I would personally pick whichever one balances better.
  23. I'd probably go for the Pro package with 2 seats and paddles, then just add a couple more mounts and add some Scotty 3 rod holders. I'll probably just order from sea eagle to get the 3 year warranty unless I can find one for a song. Now I just need to figure out how to rig up a transducer.
  24. https://www.seaeagle.com/FastTrackKayaks/385ftg
  25. Looking at trolling motors today, and I'm not quite sure how I can fit a boat, seat(s), floorboards and a TM in my little ride with all my tackle. Now it's down to the 385 kayak and the 10ft frameless fishing boat, if the latter will all fit. I'd like to have the option of floating around with a buddy or the lady, so the 285 is out now.
