  1. I would speak with the owner before transporting any kind of fish like that.
  2. I normally throw buzzbaits on one of two different rods. I chose between the two depending on what I'm fishing around (open water or cover) Shimano Crucial 6'10" MH-F with 832 braid GLoomis TWR 6'5" MH-F with 832 braid and a FC or mono leader
  3. No trailer, always with a trailer hook. I can't tell you how many fish I've caught this year on just that trailer hook. It doesn't hurt anything to not use it, so you might as well increase your hookup odds.
  4. My topwater lures never seem to get snagged...
  5. Any reports this weekend J?
  6. I prefer a MH-F rod for jerkbaits. I guess a medium would work for smaller jerkbaits, but MH just seems to suit me again.
  7. I've killed the fish in the rain. I've also been skunked in the rain. It just happens.
  8. If it's too rocky for a rattletrap, I'd be throwing a squarebill. Never hurts to throw a buzzbait or popper either.
  9. I always say "whenever I can't bring a lure through the water, bring it over the water".
  10. Be careful, frog fishing can be addicting.
  11. Saw a picture on Instagram yesterday of some guys in Ellicott Creek in Buffalo catching some. I booked my hotel. I'll be going up next Wednesday through Saturday.
  12. A few of my Shimano's out sun bathing this past weekend
  13. Managed to get a few on buzzbaits this weekend, despite some nasty wind here in PA.
  14. I have a habit of "oh this lure was the hot item today, I better go buy 2 more of it in that color, and 2 in the other size that it comes in too". Or whenever I find out a great bait has been discontinued, I'll buy 5 of them if I find somewhere that still has them in stock.
  15. Happened on Sunday for me. Fished all day and couldn't get a bite on anything. Put on a black Cavitron buzzbait and managed to catch a few nice one's in the 2-4# range.
  16. Started off slow both days over the weekend. The water dropped from 67 on Saturday afternoon, to 61 on Sunday morning. Once I could figure out what they wanted, the fishing was pretty good. Caught them on jerkbaits Saturday, and buzzbaits on Sunday. The October full moon is Wednesday. I'll be on the water for sure that night.
  17. Boat, hands down. I can cover much more water.
  18. Finding weeds and wood is usually my starting point.
  19. It fades the color out.
  20. Only thing I could catch them on yesterday was a black Cavitron with a red blade. Caught a few nice 3-4 pounders.
  21. Around here, a good bass is 17-19". A big bass is 20"+
