No I had a problem when he quit on his team, quit on the fans, and quit on the franchise that paid him $160million! Why? Just because he wanted a different contract and he didnt get his way, thats it. Just wait when whatever team he ends up with goes on a losing skid and he doesnt feel like playing anymore. POS thats all he is, if he didnt know how to hit like he does he wouldnt even be in the majors. If owners like the Steinbrenners in NY and the bandits that own the Indians can do it to the players then why is it wrong when the players stick it to the owners. He lead the Majors in most offensive catagories since the move. That woud make him right and the BOSOX owners wrong. Muddy he didnt even want to get onto the plane to go play in Seattle, after playing in Cali in the last 2 weeks he was here. He came into a game in NY to pinch hit in the 8th or 9th against M. Rivera the bat never left sitting on his shoulder, he stood there and took 3 straight pitches called strikes and never took a swing. He later complained he had knee problems they sent him to get an MRI on what BOTH knees they both came back fine. He then got traded to the Dodgers and then Boris called Theo up and said dont trade Manny he will play. He then now gets what he wanted to play for a long term contract he is carrying the Dodgers offensively, miraculously he is all healed and now can play and hustle? He quit on the Red Sox when it was John Henry who only had admiration for the guy and Manny bad mouthed everyone to try and get a ticket out of town. Meanwhile you have a guy like Mikey Lowell still playing who practically needs a crutch and a wheelchair to get down the line to 1st base after a hit he is injured so bad. Doesnt compare you couldnt trust Manny to play anymore, thats what it came too.

Muddy, Im still waiting for the Mets to make the end of season push to be out of the playoffs and first in line for playing golf in October. Oh never mind they are right on schedule. How is it possible that you miss the playoffs last year with a huge choke effort then add Johan Santana and are still in choke land? Im glad its your team rather than mine my friend.

I personally hate the NYY being a Red Sox fan and all. They did their fans and former players a great service with the way they closed out that stadium. What I will never understand is how, who ever does the scheduling, doesnt have the last home game at Yankee Stadium the last game of the season, and have it be between the Yankees and Red Sox. As for stadiums, does anyone have what the new stadium will seat for fans? I think the old stadium would hold approx 60K people. With that many people sellouts werent always a given. I mean in contrast Fenway Park can only hold about 38K people, and have the active sellout streak record at 400+ in a row.

I am a die hard Red Sox fan. I support my team from good times and bad. However to see what Manny did when he was here to now hitting the ball like no tomorrow out in Dodger land. Makes me despise him all the more. He is a cry baby bum that if he doesnt get his way will quit on anybody. He doesnt care whats best for his team, teammates, or anyone else other than him and his bank account.

I find it funny that out of every game that was played yesterday that this is the only game that has a thread about it. Miami played a great game and the Patriots Defense came out flat as flat can be. Kudos to the Dolphins for playing a great game. Its funny to see all the Patriots Haters out in full force.

Sounds like allot of you guys are just drinking too much of the Hater-aide. Im about as big a Patriots fan as anyone. It was sad to see him go down like he did. Hate the team or not he is easily one of the top notch QBs to ever play the game, on a well coached above average team. It wasnt a lock that they were going back to the SB but they were the favorites when the season started. Now Im not giving up on them yet. I still think they can win the AFC EAST, but thats about it. I just hope he can return with no loss in his performance in the 2009 season.
