Help to guesstimate bass weight
State record for sarcasm. But for this pond it is a record. Usually the fish from this pond is around 1 lbs. I do drag jigs but never tried worms. Didn't think it would work during "dog days".

Help to guesstimate bass weight
Yesterday went fishing with my wife. The weather was hot and humid - usual during summer in NC. Since nothing was biting for a couple of hours, I got lazy and stopped twitching the worm and simple started slowly drugging it across the bottom. I started getting hits! Couldn't believe it! At the first "drag" I caught this guy, but sure enough I didn't bring my scale, since didn't hope to catch anything during this weather. Help me to guesstimate the weight of this fish. I'm 6'1. Thanks.

Brown trout from lake shore
Probably a little late but the flies I had the most luck with were #8 crystal black woolly bugger and #12 BH prince nymph.

My new rig for carp fishing . The Missouri Rig
Interesting rig. How do you keep the turtles away? Every time I do carp fishing during the warm time of the year they drive me nuts.

My first striper, first finger, and two more stripers ))
Today I caught my first striper ever. It wasn't a huge fish, only about 2-3 lbs. But while unhooking him hooked my index finger with a treble hook (for the first time as well) from the lure past the barb. Pulled it out, and caught two more stripers. It was a good day.

Bass Angler Murdered At Boat Ramp
I have no words. It's hard to believe that such a piecefull sport, that doesn't involve bullets and powder at all, could ended up with shooting.

Microfishing. Help With Id.
Today I decided to try microfishing. What a fun! I chought about 25-30 fish! Sure, as the name "microfishing" suggests it's not a huge fish but it's a lot of fun. Here are few of the fish I couldn't identify. Who knows what species are these?

Fishing Ponds Near Greenville, Nc
Does anyone know good fishing pond/lakes around Greenville, NC? I don't have a boat or a kayak so I'm looking for bank fishing. I know only one place where to fish but its heavily pressured. You can throw whole tackle store without any luck. For example today I used: variety of trick worms on Texas rig, shaky head, dropshot, weightless, craws, lipless crankbait. All I got is just a few nibbles. Went fishing at 6:00 am.

Waggler Bluegill Fishing
I'm a big fan of carp fishing. I use different carp fishing methods and yesterday I decided to try a waggler float fishing for .....bluegill! And those guys were nailing it like crazy. I started with my hook on the bottom of the river but bluegills didn't event touch it. Then I readjusted the split shot pattern the way that would allow the bait to sink slowly, so called "fishing on the drop". That made a huge difference. Who would've thought! The bait was: quick greets+creamed corn+white bread+paprika. I just rolled it into small dough balls and put it on the hook #10 with the point exposed. It seems to be too much for bluegill but the ponds and the river banks I have access to are heavily pressured. The tackle has to be a little sophisticated if you wanna catch something.

Help Fishing In A Small Pond
I use this technique for carp fishing but it's a general technique that can be applied in any area. Attach a good size fishing float to the end of the line. On the line itself put a sliding sinker (I use 1oz bank sinker with a snap swivel). Put one foot mark on your rod with nail polish. (One foot from the bail of the reel). Cast this thing and start winding so that the float will go under the water until it hits the weight. Now feed the line out until you will see the float. This will give you the depth. Wind the line for the next 10 yds and repeat the process. Keep winding and measuring until you reach the bank. This way you can measure the depth at any lake. To find the bottom structure drag the same weight along the bottom by lifting your rod tip (not reeling in). Feel for any irregularities. This gives you the information about the bottom structure (sand, gravel, silt, weeds, etc.).

World Carp Record 2015 105Lbs!
Carp is the one of the strongest swimmers amongst freshwater fish. The fisherman who caught it had to sweat a lot before landing that chunk.

Carp Bait
What carp bait works in the US the best? People say that boiles don't work here as they do in Europe. I tried sweet corn but it doesn't work. Also, I tried dough bait with strawberry jello and it didn't work as well. The only bait that works well is quick greats+white bread+creamed corn. If you know other carp bait and it's known to be working please share it here.
