  1. Se the very first post. Wetten the bread and smush it. Mix all toghether. Should not be to dry because it crambles and won't stay on a hook.. Should not be too wet either. Be cautious when adding water since the corn already has water in it.
  2. It was common carp. The hook was size 10 eagle claw, the main weight was one ounce and the "pin down" was 1/44 oz. The first fish I caught was within one hour after I casted, the other two were within 20-30 min apart from each other. Didn't take to long. They gave me a good fight!
  3. Today I caught three 12 lbs carp. This is my first carp I have ever caught within the US! I'm so excited! I used Multi Rig with creamed corn+quick greets+white bread. Used the same bait to chumm the area about 20-30 min prior to fishing.
  4. I guess I will go with the bells. Hope it is sensitive enough for carp because sometimes they are to shy.
  5. How have/light should be the bobber to be sensitive enough to see a strike but not a wind or waves action?
  6. I have two cheap so called bite alarms. They are only good for shark fishing because normal size fish can't trigger the alarm. Even cat fish couldn't. So, I'm think of creating a simple carp bite alarm. I stuck on the sensor part. What would you recommend? PC mice rotary encoder is not good for this. To use a reed sensor the cercuit needs to be modified, which I don't want to mess with. Any other ideas? Thanks.
  7. Does anyone know anything about carp fishing seasons on the East Coast? When is prespawn, spawning period, post spawning, best fishing time of the year. I had three fishing trips to a local ponds, seen carp jumping but didn't get it to bite. Any suggestions? I used dough ball with strawberry jello, sweet potato, bread. Nothing worked so far. May be it's still to cold? Thanks.
  8. Yes, I cought a lot of bass from this pond. But today if somobody would of told me that there is no fish in this pond I would believe. We'll see next time. I just thought may be it's because we had a few showers and it was cloudy all day. I was surprised that nothing would bite, crappy, cats, bluegill.
  9. Today went fishing on a small, stained water pond. I didn't get even a single bite! Don't understand why. It's spring, warm water, spawn. This how I fished:started with topwater popper (green back yellow/orange belly). Next: gold/grey ratling shalow crankbait. Next: green/white mid range diving crankbait. Next: Spinner bait small colorado blade with black/gold fflakes chartruse teil and the other one was baby bass. Next: Brown jig with KVD cray fish (I guess) with blue and green flakes. Next: texas riged junebug trickworm. Next: Dropshot stickbait watermelon with gold and green flakes. I tried different speeds and retrives etc. I don't understand what have I done wrong. Not even a single bite.
  10. Never had luck with Beetle Spins. May be I didn't fish it right?
  11. If I have a fish with deep hook set I just put the fish back in to the water and move it back and forth for a couple of times in between attempts to unhook the fish. It prevents the slime coat from drying as well as keeps water circulating through the gills.
  12. Recreation. Good way to get away from every day routine.
  13. First of all tire the fish. When it stops fighting you can land it. This what I do and it works perfect for me. After you tire the fish it will be way easyer to land the fish with bare hands, net or anything also.
  14. what is the water color you fish in? Try to match that color and you should be good.
  15. well, yes. But this way you will not loose all your tackle, and this really helps to deal with hangups. And IMHO the shorter the line the harder to brake it. So 5 inch 12lbs leader is harder to brake than 40 inch 12 lbs leader. It is juts my opinion. Others may disagree.
  16. We don't have any vegetation on the surface. We have a lot of underwater trees and stumps, but I didn't have any luck with it.
  17. Any particular color? Or as long as it looks like a grasshopper it will work?
  18. I caught a small bass few days ago. But it is the first one within probably 5 weeks.
  19. I have a rod 6'6" action medium, 6-12lbs line and reel which can hold 10lbs line. What lbs braided line can i put on my rod for cats and carp fishing? What are the equivalents mono to braided?
  20. Ok, if I use the same bait and gear you people use, why in the world nothing bites? I can't figure it out! May be longnose gars ate them all. We have a lot of gars in our ponds.
