Slow days can be bummers but still better than raking leaves in my book. 👍 @MIbassyaker You’re more than welcome to come down & freeze your beans off in the Crawdad with me.🤣 I draw the line at 39° & wind over 10mph though. Extended forecast calling for highs in 40s & into upper 50s but going to be too windy. Thursday is supposed to be almost 60° but calling for rain for 4 out of 5 days later in the week. I hope the honey hole isn’t going to be chocolate milk by December. Chances looking good I may make it out next month. @ol'crickety I know the feeling all too well. With luck a short winter but usually when it’s mild like this we get a late running winter. 🤮

@Pat Brown Fish seem to love those Keitechs & so do I (chatterbait trailer). Wish they were a bit more durable but I have a feeling the softness is part of what makes them appealing to the fish. Should have thrown one yesterday. Hard for me to put down "old reliable" type of baits at times.

Gotta love those CA gas prices! We just dipped a bit under $3/gal around where I live. No worries, a 40¢/gallon hike looms any day now!😖

Anyone here making spinnerbaits & twisting the line ties like they did back in the day? I find the line constantly wraps around the R-bend & if unchecked the line eventually stretches & breaks.

@Creek Chub 1 - A common trait for rods marketed as “feel" rods or sensitive. My Dobyns Xtasy baitcasting rods are like this & very sensitive. Wasn’t sure if I would like that but have grown to love them after fishing with them for the year. Unfortunately I cannot attest to their spinning rods as I have not used any of them.

Well that and the vast majority of married men I know all have this certain look in their eyes - one of defeat & quietly uttering, "Please just make it stop." 🤣🤣🤣 All kidding aside, been there, done that, probably won’t ever do it again. Glad for those that found a keeper. I was fishing for a trophy LMB & unfortunately caught a bottom feeder & threw it on the bank, if you smell what I’m stepping in.🫣

@WRB What food source do you feel or know to be fact that contributed to those CA bass getting that large? Trout alone? Feel free to expand on other factors that also contributed to their large sizes. Genetics & longer growing season (weather related) are probably the most obvious or so I’ve often read.

@islandbass No, I was not. I copied the image on my phone some time ago (probably from here) & text just that image & nothing else to a buddy of mine whenever I’ve "been bitten". He knows what that means. Never knew the backstory - pretty cool. 👍

Had boat issues while down at Guntersville last month & when we asked a bait store clerk where we should go, they recommended Duckett Marine. When we walked out of the bait shop, I looked at my dad & said our boat wasn’t going to Boyd’s place. We went to another repair shop & saw Swindle come in - was pretty cool. A salesman urged me to go speak to him but I didn’t want to come off like a fanboy. I lost respect for Duckett most when KVD pointed out (ironically on a televised MLF cup show) how Duckett couldn’t figure out how to get bit & was following him around all day trying to see what KVD was doing. I’m a fan of both formats & didn’t get wrapped up in the split. I see both sides. Just amazed at how low & dishonorable some anglers can be all in the name of money regardless of what league they fish. Is one reason why I don’t tournament fish. People act like grown babies.
