  1. Nothing will shock me as far as who is in or out. Committee has made odd choices in the past. They love the SEC, Ohio State & Notre Dame in general, if they’re contenders. Who’s to say GA falls completely out, if @gimruis is correct? And if they do, OSU could feasibly slip in there because the committee loved them early on when most blowhards felt they weren’t as good as MI. Would GA being an SEC team have a better body of work with 1 loss than an undefeated FSU with a backup QB & playing in a down ACC year? Will be interesting but some fans somewhere aren’t going to be happy, as usual. Look forward to the playoff expansion but 12 seems a bit much. I have a hard time taking any outside top 6 or 8 as serious contenders these days.
  2. @The Bassman Well done sir! Last one looks like it’s pouting over being caught but probably nose angle pointing downward. 😂
  3. 6-12 caught early last month on a spinnerbait off the deep end of a large laydown. She ties 2nd all time for me. This fish was very fat - pic doesn’t her justice. After wearing her down, she came out from under the boat & I looked down & got a bird’s eye view & her belly was wider than her shoulders. Sorry for markups - small public lake & keeping it quiet.
  4. Enjoy the exhaust - I helped design some of the components on this generation (T1) & the next (T1-2 or T2 for short) which should be somewhere around 2027. Last I saw the 3D exterior of T2 it wasn’t anything exciting so be prepared to be unimpressed a bit. V8s will be slightly larger volumes but just bored out 5.3 & 6.2 liters (IIRC, 5.7 & 6.6L). GM getting strange how they’re doing truck/SUV cycles in regards to new exterior/interior & their mid-cycle refresh. Your new lease has a pretty much whole new front - very subtle design changes but they’re present. Biggest change after MY 22 was interior. Enjoy the new truck!
  5. @Woody B Well done, sir. A quick 5 & back home for the rest of the day.
  6. @T-Billy I agree 100%. If I may add, I also tend to think anglers who have been through the ups & downs with fishing & have at some point achieved any sort of angling goals have a very deep appreciation when others catch trophy class fish, often regardless of species. Their results (and many others not mentioned) make it possible for other anglers to set higher goals - not just one PB but a stringer of trophy class fish or gaining a level of understanding where that is repeatable on a consistent basis. Putting it all together, so to speak. That whole process, at least for me, is part of the angling brotherhood & one reason why many of us have never met each other in person but often hit it off immediately. We’ve shared in the struggle. Don’t sell yourself short as far as the hammer category - you’re obviously right up there or you wouldn’t be posting pics practically every day.👍
  7. Not a huge deal, just ticked at myself for not remembering. Wednesday looks promising for now. I will go then if forecast holds. Not like I/we have been on fire as far as quantity but you never know when Mrs. Muffintop is going to be feeding & that’s what I am usually targeting. Addicted, 100%. Appreciate the previous comment you made regarding my dad. Think he had me on the shores of Lemon with a spin cast when I was 3, just casting with a split shot & no hook. Kept asking if I was getting a bite. I think I believed a keeper was a species of fish until I was 5-6.🤣 I blame him for the gateway drug & he’s been present when I’ve caught many of my larger fish including my first PB over 6. Panfishing in the strip pits spoiled him & he’s not as patient as he used to be - fishes way too fast & if they’re not biting quickly, he is quick to give up. I will fish all day or late into the night for just one big bite.
  8. Leave me alone, you evil creature!
  9. I would call them & make absolutely sure you can do the blank SD card because I do not think that is how it works, at least for the card which allows access to all of US inland & coastal waterways including some of Canada (called Navionics+ Large). Too much data for a single SD card with that option. A regional card might work that way - don’t know for sure because I have the Navionics+ Large card. I believe you buy the card, download their chart installer software which requires registration on your part & identifies your card. Use the chart installer for choosing which areas you want on your card as well as updating card. Once subscription expires, you renew your subscription & can update your card for another year. Expired subscriptions do not mean your card won’t work in your unit, it just means you can’t update your card to the latest & greatest surveys, POIs, etc. EDIT: Went to Garmin Navionics website & didn’t see any options for downloading charts, for Garmin or other branded units. Buy the card (includes 1 year subscription for updates), they mail you card, use Chart Installer software as described above. Card continues to work after subscription expires but cannot be updated until subscription is renewed.
  10. Definitely the spine - too many "i’s" from which to choose for direct line tie.
  11. I should have stayed home. There was an ongoing event which prevented me from going. Sad thing is I knew about it beforehand but it completely slipped my mind. All I was paying attention to was the weather forecast. 🤬🤬
  12. Dad & I are going tomorrow. Excluding ice fishing, this will be the first time either of us have been on the water in IN during December. Temp forecasts are favorable for another 10 days. Wind and/or rain will be main factors for us.
  13. Yes, yes. A great point indeed. Another victim name checked off the expiration list.
  14. You should see all the empty shells. I have to shop vac them up about every other month.🤣
  15. I know, I know….
  16. One of the funniest posts I’ve read this week. You’re a sick, sick human & I love it. Almost made me……
  17. @Bazoo Owners are great hooks, IMO. Sticky sharp. I do see Acdemy does have them online - set to your store & see. EDIT: online only at Academy.
  18. @Bazoo An example of the hook @WRB suggested, rigged on a grub.
  19. @ol'crickety, If you’re able, take a week & fish each body (wetland, river, pond) as often as possible. You should run into them at some point. They’re not going to go too far from whatever food source they’re using at that time. Another option might be to contact a local guide or one nearby & see if they’ll give you some advice for that time of year - like starting points. Some of the pits I fish are small (less than 50 acres), deep (20’+) & clear waters. They don’t fish like most impoundments (think shad-based reservoirs). You may be in a similar situation. We’ve had success in beating the banks with skirted jigs as near to ice-out as possible up until we see them move up on beds. Early & late in the year, areas where sunlight hits the longest should be key targets. Our thought is females, prior to spawn, are seeking out biggest bang for the buck regarding high protein & that would more than likely be crayfish mixed in with panfish.
  20. Careful….he’s not just a master of financial manipulation.
  21. I smell what you’re steppin in - fuel rails & air/fuel injectors in Texas waiting in line to be looked at……in January 😣
  22. @A-Jay Thank you. I was hoping my memory wasn’t depreciating like my bank account as of late.
  23. @Justbass11 Do you mean the handle won’t turn at all or you can turn the handle & the spool doesn’t turn?
  24. I might be mistaken but didn’t @A-Jay mention catching some monsters in MX on skirted jig with longer Senkos (or similar soft stick bait) as trailers on one of his trips?
