Anyone throw these yet? Really like the paint schemes and price point, especially if the hooks are good. @Bluebasser86 I remeber reading you bought a few of the new berkley hardbaits. Thanks- NRX 895C JWR or GLX 896C FPR
Jeff talk to @Lucky Craft Man I think he has like 23 - 916's. He LOVES them. Yes, from everything I've read the 916 is incredibly versatile. I remember him saying it could easily handle 1oz flip/pitch duties.- NRX 895C JWR or GLX 896C FPR
Look at the MB Perfect Pitch as well. I picked one up late last summer and while I don't have much on the water time with it, its a really nice rod. Also makes a nice frog rod as well.- Anyone add a bead to mojo rig?
Going to head out tomorrow (small pond) and I think it will be pretty stained, was going to throw a Mojo rig. Using a 1/8 oz weight with bobber stops on either side. Was going to put the stops maybe 6-8" apart with a bead. Thoughts?- Picasso Shock Blade Reviews
Thanks @blckshirt98 I usually keep my bladed jigs at a slow to steady retrieve except with ripping through grass. I was thinking of using the 1/4oz baits above the grass at a slower pace.- Picasso Shock Blade Reviews
Looking to pick up some more bladed jigs this year. Specifically some 1/4oz has anyone used the Picasso Shock Blades in any size? How do you like them? Thanks!- Trusted Japanese tackle on the web?
They have taken too much of my money!!!!!! I've ordered from - Japan Angler, Japan Lure Shop, Digitaka and Bass.jp and have never had an issue.- A fish worth leaping about!!!
- 50 LB braided line-only frogs?
Other than my frogging/flip pitch rod: 55lb braid on my Spinnerbait/Swim Jig rod and love it - grass is no problem anymore. 40lb on my c-rig and all around rod 30lb on my 'heavier' cranking rod. I throw alot of lipless on it as well as chatterbaits. 20lb as my main line on one of my spinning setups. I do run straight Mono or FC on some rods, but braid is great line.- New spot! Pig alert!
- Where should a leader 'normally' break at?
San Diego Jam.- New spot! Pig alert!
- Where should a leader 'normally' break at?
Ok, that was also a question of mine - thanks T9. How important are the wraps coming back spacing/crossing over the previous wraps?- Where should a leader 'normally' break at?
@Darren. I do 7 wraps up and 7 wraps back. I do wet the line prior to cinching. I also give a nice pull to make sure its a solid knot and it seems good to me. Maybe a few more wraps to start and see how it goes.- Where should a leader 'normally' break at?
I am wondering where or in most cases my line should break off at. Example - I have a shaky head tied on and get hung - should I expect it to break off at the knot on the jig head or at my joining knot for my leader. Does it depend on too many factors - any niks, number of fish caught on the leader compared to the lure? Reason I am asking is I started using the Alberto knot sometime last summer as it comes highly recommended. I have noticed since switching it seems (while I never really put to much thought into it prior) I am breaking off at the leader knot. I can't remember if it was the same when using the uni to uni. I am using 20lb braid to 8lb FC. Thanks- Reel Backing?
Up to you. I use mono backing on everything other than mono. I try to get a few 'spools' out of each spool of line I buy. Braid and FC aren't cheap so it saves me a little money and my braid doesn't slip.- Wacky Rig Senko
I still haven't found a hook I LOVE. My standard is the Gamakatsu Wide Gap Finesse Hook Weedless. I bought 2 this winter to try - Decoy Cover Finesse HD Worm 220 and Falcon Lures Weedless "K" Wacky Hook both weighted and unweighted. So we shall see. Love me some Wacky Rig!- Favorite mid running crank
I just bought a few of the Big M cranks myself (all shallow runners). Should be here in the next week or two. I've heard really great things about his baits.- Squarebills
When they first came out I bought 2 of each size and have fished them both. I started out throwing the 1.2 (for reasons unknown) but immediately did very well. I threw the 1.5 (runs a tad deeper) and just didn't get bit. So I lost confidence in it compared to the 1.2 and just threw the heck out of it last year. Now I don't know why it produced better, while I probably didn't give it it's fair share I'll stick with the 1.2's. Added the color Fire craw this winter - looks AWESOME, I really like the texture. The 1.2 caught my PB for the Potomac this fall.- Squarebills
- Chatterbait with a spring keeper
Check out the Revenge Viberator it has spring keeper.- C-Rig baits
Looks like anything will work and I can just use what I already carry around. Thanks for all the suggestions.- Show off your Stuff
Really excited for this combo! I will primarily use it for Jerkbaits and Topwater. I'll spool it with 13lb Sunline Defier Armilo. The Type R+ was brand new, I just put HH bearings in it and Carbontex drag. The Ultima is simply beautiful can't wait to fish it. Is it Spring yet?????? http://s1067.photobucket.com/user/mattbfleming/library/Jerkbait%20and%20Topwater%20Combo Matt- C-Rig baits
I have really never fished this rig before but I am fishing Kerr for a club tournament in early April and I've been told a C-Rig can be a great option. What baits do you think to throw with the old ball and chain? Thanks. - Berkley Warpig
