  1. whoa. can't wait for a review on those.
  2. Short video of a violent pompadour strike.
  3. Could always go with Ryan and I to chase some little birds.
  4. The pompadour is one of my favorite baits. Like bluebasser said when they eat it it's violent. I've fished both the standard and jr size and they both perform equally. One thing I've noticed is the fish get the front hook every time and they tend to come out of the water to bite down on it. It's a real fun bait to fish and you never know when a fish is going to explode on it. You do need to watch the wings as they will get bent back from the attack.
  5. I originally bought the mikey to get to that free shipping.
  6. Get some big head wobblers and put them to work on both of those lakes. You can catch fish on almost any bait on those lakes. Brian has plenty of LS videos that could help you narrow down bait choices.
  7. I hit WC about 11 they made us quit at 2. Took a guy from Wisconsin that wanted to have our meeting on the lake. He was amazed that we could fish in January and catch LM and SM in the same place with the same bait. I did get my best fish of the year on a mikey, didn't weigh it since it had all 3 hooks. I do know it didn't go 4.
  8. Mikey fish from yesterday. This fish got all 3 hooks.
  9. I've caught fish on both the Mikey and Mikey Jr. They float, but you have to work it real slow to keep it on the surface. All the fish I have caught on it the bait was just below the surface, so it wasn't really waking on the surface. I have one tied on ready to use. I would probably get the standard mikey not the jr.
  10. buy this reel. Then go into the St Croix bargain room and get the MBC70MF, Mojo Bass 7'0" Medium Fast. Eventually you'll want a MH but for starting out this rod would be perfect and last you for years.
  11. Chris does need to weigh some fish. I'd love to see these 4 pound smallies he's always talking about catching at Wolf. I've fished there for almost 10 years now and have yet to see a smallie over 4 come out of Wolf. Tons of them in the 3 pound range, but other than one I had jump off last time that him and I fished together that might have gone 4, I've never seen any others that would have been close. Not many largemouth over 4 out of there for that matter. He's talking 4's? He meant 3's. Although, the one I lost yesterday would have been pushing 4. Guess my point is neither one of us care what our "best 5" weighs so we turn em loose and get back to fishing.
  12. My clients are on the opposite side of the law compared to your clients.
  13. Plus the fish did not cooperate yesterday. The only brown fish we saw was lost at the boat in the first 5 minutes on a mikey. I think Chris jinxed us when he said we need to weigh some fish.
  14. Chris and I are going to stay with one of my clients in Grove.
  15. I know technically I shouldn't do this here, but before I post in the flea market thought I would give the local guys a shot first. I have two Lews reels for sale: 1: Laser MG 7.1 with 8lb flouro 10/10 both cosmetically and mechanically. Right hand. $45 2: BB1 7.1 no line, brand new except the spool. I had one with a stripped handle shaft and they gave me a new one and let me keep the spool since it had line on it at the time. Right hand. $125 I'd be open to trades or could package both of them. I do have the boxes for both. PM me. I am leaving for ND Thursday morning and will put in the flea market next week if none of you guys want them.
  16. New spelling champ. The week between Christmas and ny would work for me. I have the whole week off.
  17. We'll get you taken care of.
  18. 2015 Biggest Local Bass-(largemouth and/or smallmouth) Weight (or length if you didn't have a scale): LM: not sure didn't weigh or measure SM: 3 12 Lure: LM: Code Black Wobbler with blue and black sweet beaver SM: Bullshad, what else Pattern: LM: making it wobble SM: Waking it over the widow makers Lake: LM: Cedar Valley SM: Melvern Time of Year: July - August Anyone notice who's boat some of these guys were in when they posted their biggest local bass? If the BA and Chis S. post there will be a couple more. Although that 1 8 AW posted is weak we need to work on getting him a respectable SM. Pic of the unknown weight LM:
  19. There were 6 boats in the outlet on Sunday morning, by 10 they all left with that N wind. Around noon we had it to ourselves when we cam back to it.
  20. Peer pressure or guys having a good day somewhere directly relates to the armada phenomenon. It's really nothing to be chicken of.
  21. Liar. The BR armada is about the invade WC.
  22. He hooked that fish said "wow!" and I made another cast about the time the lure hit the water he said get the net. Don't worry he still swung the one he got on a deps.
