  1. Those rods should be able to handle 65 pound braid.
  2. If you get one that has been put together well I think you will be fine. You may want to look at the G Loomis E6X 844C or the IMX.
  3. I like having my rods in the vehicle when I'm in tow mode. I know they're safe.. I'm really fussy about my rods and reels. The battery is always going to be a pain in the butt. Mine is a series 29, it weights 65 pounds. Every trip means it has to be handled 5 times. The ramps and the surroundings aren't always very level ect...... at times it's a real elbow smasher.
  4. I like a full cork handle too.. Hootie, How much $$$ was the rod?
  5. It's tough enough buying sight unseen rods here at home... lol I would never consider doing so outside our borders.
  6. The only in and out items are my rods, battery and T motors. It's quick and easy..
  7. That rod is beautiful. Great Job!
  8. Thanks for that info.... The tip action is critical to me. The rod is due to arrive on Tuesday. If I like it I'm going to buy a 904 too. I'll post pics. You're playing in the big money league with a Megabass rod....
  9. It's the E6X, I'm going to use this one primarily for short casting Popper Frogs and Toads so sensitivity wasn't a concern. As long as it has some tip for casting accuracy and a big backbone I think it will work out well for me. Brian says this 844 has plenty of tip. Assuming the action is the same as the two you had what should I expect from this rod?
  10. I did a seach to check it out. That seat looks pretty good.. I found it on the Get Bit site. I also saw a few others that look interesting. Thx for the tip.. I suppose the wise thing to do would be ordering in five or six and getting a look and feel.
  11. I bought some of his Dock Rockers in different weights.. I need more swim jigs. I may also buy hair jigs. Give them a try, I've never fished with them.
  12. I'll buy one some time in the future.
  13. If I'm throwing lipless cranks I don't need a seriously expensive rod. It wasn't a rod I had to go online to research. I found a Black Tech Spec MF at Dicks for $60.00 that's casts in perfect harmony with a Lews Team Mag reel with braid and a leader, the rod also does great job setting hooks. It's s sleeper rod. On the other hand I'm into toads and frogs, I bought and sent back 5 rods that didn't live up to what was talked about and described by sales reps. So now I'm having one built. My regret is wasting my time with online dopes... I also regret sending my reels out for services I did not receive and losing time waiting for them to come back. Is a month to long? For a 30 minute job? You bet it is. I do my own services now. It's easy...
  14. My brother in law left his 2 week old Minn Kota next to a post by the ramp at a Ct. Lake last month. He realized what he had done just as he pulled in his driveway. So, an hour back to the lake and nada. It was long gone. Back in June I was with him fishing. We pulled out at dark. Loaded up and left. We were in his truck. Anyway when we got to his house I jumped in my car and drove home. About 11:00 that night I realized I didn't take my rods out Of his truck. I called him... Long and short I got back to the ramp after mid night.. There they lay.. That was a close one.
  15. RI is a best kept secret... The bass fishing here is fantastic if you know what you're doing. The wind on Wordens is out of the South West almost all the time so fish that end of the lake if you're in a small craft. You have to work the reeds and pads. The only thing you'll catch in open water there is pick or pike. Oh, check the weather conditions before you head out. It will help you determine which lake to go to and what to plan on using. The web is loaded with maps and information for all the lakes. If you have a smart phone buy the Navionics boating app. You will reap major benefits. Good Luck!
  16. I've had the best season in my life. I'm 58... That's how good it was. Hope it continues until it's to cold to swing my rods.
  17. I've got an E6X on a FedEx truck making its way here. It's a Mag 844C. Check out icast.. Voted rod of the year 2015. $200.00 and your casting again.
  18. Look on eBay for similar rods that have been listed and or sold.
  19. I have one tiny spinning ice rod....... I use 6 rods for Bass, all baitcasters. I'm contemplating one spinning setup for dropshots. I doubt I will do it.
  20. I only use a leader for open water. I use braid on all my reels. Even deep cranks.. I don't worry about a couple of feet... I worry about the hook set and boating the fish. I never use any FC either.. I use P-Line CX for my leaders.
  21. Brian at Tackle Trap was a pleasure to deal with. Give him a call.
  22. So I visit Tackle Traps web site... I'm looking at the Perfect Pitch rod.. I call to talk with Rep. While I'm on the phone I get a pop up on the website. They have deals on G Loomis rods. My curiosity was over with for now. I bought a MBR844C. It should be here Tuesday.
