  1. I just took a look at the rod line up for maybe the 2nd time. I'm impressed with all of them but the Orchi XX is in my wheel house. Full cork grip! Hmmmm.......................... You all have me thinking.
  2. The rod is a great value. Think about it.. It really is quite a deal. USA Blank and hands on with good components and a good warranty. How can anybody go wrong buying one or two or more... In fact I think the Falcon line as a whole is something we should all consider. I need a good all around rod and I'm torn between the Bucoo and Low Rider 20. They're so close...
  3. My G Loomis 734 has the ECS... It's a fine seat. I still prefer the Lews.
  4. One of the Rods I really liked was the Powell. If not for those SK2 seats it would have been a keeper. Especially the 6'8" rod. At first I was just going to go with a common Fuji. But if I can get the Lews or similar I'd rather have it. I'll search and have a look at the two you mentioned. Ok so I saw the ECS seat.. Looks typical in the pics. What do you see or feel that is different about it? I saw the PTS. I don't think I would be comfortable with this one. The drop on the top side of the back seat would be a stopper for me. I like a consistent transition and a longer trigger.
  5. LMAO.......... I hope you made the proper suggestion before you hung up on the dope.
  6. I want a Toad Rod.. Can't look at anything where I am so its my only option. Looking at two blanks with him next week. I want plenty of backbone with a MF tip. I haven't discussed the reel seat in detail with him yet however he is familiar with Lews. A mag blank is questionable. I don't think I need that much rod and I don't want the added weight. 7'-7'6" 1/4-1- 1 1/4oz 65lb braid SIC concept guides 11" Portuguese full cork handle No hook keeper 5oz max I'll trust him with the engineering.. That parts not in my wheel house. I emailed Lews to see if it was available to me at retail. .
  7. My builder will be starting a rod for me in the next couple of weeks. I'm still trying to decide which reel seat to go with. Suggestions with pics and opinions needed. My favorite seat is the Team Lews split. I don't think I can buy it anywhere.
  8. Those Omens get a lot of love. Congrats!
  9. They will ship two or more together. You only pay for one tube to be shipped. I think it's a flat $19.00 shipping fee. They have last years SCII Mojo's for $80.00, maybe less each for two or more.
  10. I don't like a short handle either. I"m totally uncomfortable with a shorty. 10" -12" works best for me.
  11. Call the St Croix "Retail Store". Ask for John or talk to one of the sales guys. Rage Rods are two for $100.00
  12. Those rods are two for 100. You should have ordered two. 11 more you have it!
  13. So what about the Jason Christie rods as compared to the straight up Bucoo?
  14. Good to hear all the positive feedback. I'll keep the action in mind if I decide to buy. I was thinking mh, I suppose I should get a hvy.
  15. I'm considering a 6'6" Herm or the Low Rider 20 6"8" AOY any thoughts?
  16. If there isn't a weight difference for the extra $50 I'll get the 54.
  17. I want to fish South Watuppa. I haven't been there in years... I still fish Stafford a few times a month. If any of you locals want to hook up let me know. We can meet at one of the lakes. I fish out of my rigged canoe and usually fish alone but if you need a seat I can arrange the canoe easily enough.
  18. I'm so totally satisfied with Sieberts jigs.. my second order just arrived today. The quality and workmanship really is outstanding. Deep water fishing is coming up soon for me.. I'll be scratching the bottom for bigins! The weeds and pads around me are decomposing fast this year.. What are they like in your neck of the woods?
  19. Dito... if i had bigger hands I may lean towards the BB1.... both great reels. i just really like everything about the TP.
  20. I use repel.. I wash my hands thoroughly after spraying it. I can't stand the smell of it but, it works.
  21. Your going to have to spend at least 140 for either of the Lews reels.
  22. I'm a Lews fan for sure sure. They're a great quality reel company with outstanding service. As for which reel, I have two BB1Pros and Tourney Pro's. The Tourney has dual braking system and is a smaller reel. It's a much more comfortable reel to handle. I use mine for some serious junk fishing. Never had a failure. I use the BB1 Pro for cranks. Both reels cast equal distance when pair with the same rod and line. A great compromise would be the Super Duty. It's tough and it cast a mile. It is a bit heavier though. If I had to recommend one reel for you it would be the Tournament Pro.. It's as close to perfect as you will find anywhere in its price range. American Legacy Fishing has a sale going on so take a look. There are no sales for the new G2 model anywhere... If you want a super lite that's tough and cast seriously far buy the new Magnesium frame Team reel. About $100.00 more. Mine is incredible in every way.
  23. I like some tip for toads and frogs. I have no idea how the Rojas rods are tapered. Odds are I'll never see one unless I go to a trade show.
  24. Good to hear you like it. Do you know if there is a weight difference between the 40 and 54?
