  1. Calcutta Bait company makes a pretty good pair of cheap polarized sunglasses, I've had one pair for almost a year now and they have held up pretty good.
  2. I like a Gambler BB cricket for small jigs like that.
  3. Well okay I'll admit to having a bunch of biffle bugs and hard heads stocked up. However I usually do best with the biffle bug as a jig trailer and a craw or trick worm on the hard head.
  4. My grandpa would be the sentimental choice. Hackney, Martens, Andy Morgan or Jon Cox would be my choices from the pro ranks.
  5. Yup, the Big Ez has been a great bait for me. I mostly fish it pretty slow around deep brush piles, flooded timber and stuff like that (like slow rolling a spinnerbait) I also use it as topwater similar to the way you would use a buzz bait. I mostly fish in upstate South Carolina and I was suprised how well it worked in our clear and mostly grass free lakes. There are few different ways to rig this thing, I usually stick with a weighted EWG hook with a screw lock, pegging a bullet weight to the nose of the Big EZ is another way to go if your around a lot of vegetation. Good luck !
  6. For me it would be a 4" stick worm rigged on 6 or 8 pound line and a 7 ' M spinning rod. You might have to weed thru some little ones but you'll get some nice ones also.
  7. Either a Zebco 33 like mentioned above or budget level baitcaster to get you started.
  8. 7' 2" All Star jig and worm rod Lews LFS lefty with 12# yo zuri hybrid . Gambler EZ swimmer Gambler 10" curly tail worm Siebert Outdoors 1/2 oz. Dock Rocker jig in "Trust Me" There's a good argument to having a spinning rod with some 4" stick worms, Ned rigs and trick worms, but right now I'm trying to improve my skills with baitcasters and pretending the fish are aggressive
  9. Another vote for yo zuri hybrid, I fish #12 on most of my combos and have been very happy with it. I've used it for topwaters from buzz toads to super spooks and floating worms and flukes.
  10. My all time favourite bass fishing lure. Just thinking about fishing a curly tail worm brings back some awesome boyhood fishing memories.
  11. I fish mine with the weedguard because I could be making long casts in open water around a point then pitching it around laydowns or docks ten minutes later. Trailers are usually a Gambler little otter or zoom z craw. I like the jig to glide a little on slack line and those wider body trailers Seem to help with that .
  12. I read all top patterns and lures articles that FLW and Bassmaster put out. I'm pretty set on the gear I like and fish with so I pay more attention to the style or philosophy that pro used. I.e. Jesse Wiggins fishing deep during springtime in FL, or Jon Cox fishing shallow in the Cup when everyone started out deep. The stuff that goes against the grain or gets overlooked .
  13. I fish a lot of very clear lakes and ponds, so it's usually a brown or green pumpkin and sometimes black n blue. Sieberts has a black and green pumpkin skirt that I'm looking forward to fishing. Sizes are anywhere from 3/8 to 1 oz.
  14. Been having a lot of those lately, usually I'm fishing either a fluke Jr. on a jig head or a straight tail worm.
  15. Watermelon and chartreuse zoom lizard, Texas rigged with a 1/8th oz bullet weight .
  16. Never thought about dragging a fluke with one but I say go for it. I like fishing them year around, looking for sandy or rocky spots on an otherwise mucky pond bottom. In colder water I usually have a trick worm or a gambler little otter on there.
  17. Black n Blue, Texas Craw and Black with a Green Pumpkin trailer. That June Bug /sapphire combination looks good, I'll be trying that out soon. I also like rattles and lots of scent.
  18. 1/4 oz. Acme Kastmaster spoon, in chrome or silver. In this modern world of A-rigs, whopper ploppers etc, I find myself thinking about the stuff Paw Paw would have thrown. That part about the wand is pretty on point as well.
  19. I like throwing the smaller sizes, especially in rivers or when the bite is tough and/or they are feeding on tiny baitfish .
  20. I like a good deal as much as the next guy, but generally you get what you pay for.
  21. Arkansas shiner and Baby Bass are two of my favourites in addition to the standards, green pumpkin and pearl white.
  22. Gambler Sweebo or a Trick worm texas rig with a 2-0 hook
  23. I've seen a few of these for sale, this thread has convinced me to look into the next one I find.
  24. The Zoom Trick worm in black gets my vote. I've caught bass from top to bottom and year round with that one .
  25. Ima skimmer, Zoom Horny Toad or a Pop R for me.
