Throwing a Senko as a walk the dog style topwater.

Classic Plastic
6" Gambler curly tail worm or a 5" Lizard. I fished for years with those as the only plastics I owned. Kinda thinking about going back to that.

Is seaguar red label fluorocarbon good as a main line?
I use 12 and 15 on a few of my bait casting setups. I use it for leader on my spinning reals. It fits my budget for line. Invizx, assassin etc are better handling lines for sure but the Red Label does fine for c-rig, jigs, t-rigs and heavier reaction baits.

If you could only use one jig trailer for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Green pumpkin Zoom Super Chunk.

South Carolina
Upstate, Oconee County. Most of my fishing is done on the Savannah River Chain, but I'm looking forward to doing some fishing in the low country this year.

Top water and frog rod all in one?
For me its two different rods depending on cover/where I'm fishing. Around the house here in upstate SC: 6'10 falcon HF new lowrider, light to medium cover, yes it's shorter than recommended but it's a little more accurate and controlled. Mostly fishing those baits around docks, laydowns and random stretches of bank. In FL: Dobyns Savvy 734 with some 50# braid. What's posted above is technically ideal but for multiple techniques on one rod you can compromise a little bit.

Best Low End Aluminum Frame Bait Cast Reel ?
Another vote for the Lew's LFS series. I bought 3 of them in 2016 and they have been taking a beating and still performing great.

Lake Hartwell - February 2019
Lake Hartwell Fishing and Marine on Hwy 24 would be a great place to get started, they are friendly and knowledgeable there. You could probably spend a whole month just in the Tugaloo arm and fish something different every day. Not sure about the walleye, but they do stock them in the lakes above the Tugaloo so there's a chance there are some in there. Fishing for stripes seems to be a live bait around the bridges kinda thing. Boat docks and points with rock and or brush with some contour are a good place to look for Largemouths and spots. It's hard to beat a shakeyhead for that kind of fishing, when they are aggressive a jerkbait or crankbait is a good way to go. Since your gonna be in the area for a little bit I'd recommend a trip up Hwy 11 to check out Lake Jocassee. Hartwell is a fun lake but not always consistent day to day, however it's so big and varied that there is usually something going on somewhere. Hope this gets you headed in the right direction.

Upstate South Carolina
Welcome! If you are looking for someplace new to fish take a look at Lake Tugalo on the SC/GA border, it's a good place to do some kayak fishing. I'm not sure where your at but it's about 1.5 hrs from Greenville, SC.

Famous fisherman who inspired you
He's not a bass guy but Jose Wejebe was a big influence, he brought so much joy and excitement you can't help but get fired up. Now that I mostly bass fish and dabble in tournaments I gotta say Bryan Thrift, he doesn't do alot of TV stuff but I can listen to his podcasts at work and it definitely has helped with the mental game.

Way to fish Nolan, best of luck in the final round.

2018 GEICO BASSMASTER CLASSIC
Way to go Jo Lee! It was heartbreaking watching Christie today, but Lee made the right adjustments. Heck of a Classic. For me the big lesson here: don't be afraid to pick up a spinning rod and scratch up some bites.

Soft swim baits in brush and lay-downs
I like a Gambler EZ swimmer or little EZ. I'll use either a 3/0 or 4/0 weighted Mustad grip pin hook. Sometimes I'll use it like a buzzbait in the shallow brush or in the deeper stuff slow roll it.

Awesome deal
Way to save some money !

Fish attractants
Another vote for Megastrike, I smear it on the skirts of my spinnerbaits, jigs etc. and any soft plastics. I also like adding chartreuse Spike It to my Senkos and EZ swimmers.

Why do you prefer the EWG over a round bend hook ?

Live target lures
I've caught some nice bass on the pumpkinseed crankbaits, found 'em in the bargain bin section of my local hardware store. Nice lures but the retail price is a little strong for my budget.

Jig Fishing Questions
What are y'all thoughts on jigs with EWG hooks? I picked up a few 3/4 oz jigs from a local tackle maker and it got me curious, I thought maybe for bigger trailers ?

Best Starter Baitcaster
I bought my first baitcasters a year ago after using spinning gear for 25 years.Lots of good suggestions already, one suggestion Id make would be try and find a good deal on one with a solid aluminum frame. a bit more pricey but more durable in the long run. The Lews LFS series, Daiwa Exceller and the Academy house brand are all solid choices. If your firm on your budget, then take a look at a Daiwa Aird on eBay and use the change on an All Star 6'8" MH casting rod. Good luck in your search !

What was your first confidence bait?
For me it's just a regular curly tail worm. As a kid growing up in Central FL tequila sunrise was the hot color, now that I live in Upstate SC it's green pumpkin.

What's working for your pond currently?
KVD 1.5 and a Carolina rig with baby brush hog.
